LAUDERDALE CITY CO CIL <br />MEETING M TES <br />Lauderdale City Hall <br />1891 Walnut Street <br />Lauderdale, 55113 <br />Page 1 of 2 October 10, 2017 <br />Roll Call <br />Mayor Gaasch called the Regular City Council meeting to order at 7:32 p.m. <br />Councilors present: Jeff Dains, Kelly Dolphin, Roxanne Grove, and Mayor Mary Gaasch. <br />Councilors absent: Andi Moffatt. <br />Staff present: Heather Butkowski, City Administrator; Jim Bownik, Assistant to the City <br />Administrator; and Miles Cline, Deputy City Clerk. <br />Approvals <br />Mayor Gaasch asked if there were any changes to the meeting agenda. Butkowski removed the <br />2018-2020 Union Agreement with AFSCME Council 5 from the Discussion/Action Items <br />section to allow for amending. There being no other changes, Councilor Grove moved and <br />seconded by Councilor Dains to approve the agenda as amended. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mayor Gaasch asked if there were any changes to the meeting minutes. There being none, <br />Councilor Dains moved and seconded by Councilor Grove to approve the minutes of the <br />September 26, 2017, City Council Meeting. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Councilor Grove moved and seconded by Councilor Dolphin to approve the claims totaling <br />$96,982.31. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Informational Presentations/Reports <br />A. County Commissioner McGuire <br />Ramsey County Commissioner Mary Jo McGuire approached the Council to give an update on <br />news from Ramsey County. Her discussion focused on the recent County reorganization and <br />their ongoing efforts to promote economic well-being and competitiveness. <br />B. Update on Comprehensive Plan <br />Jennifer Haskamp of Swanson Haskamp Consulting provided the Council with a brief summary <br />of the next steps for the 2040 Comprehensive Plan update. Haskamp invited the community to an <br />open house event on October 19 at City Hall to provide feedback and learn more about the plan. <br />C. City Council Updates <br />Councilor Dolphin noted her participation in the recent Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee <br />meeting. Councilor Dains mentioned on-going efforts at CTV to restructure in light of lost cable <br />franchise revenue. He also attended the St. Paul Regional Water Services Board meeting. <br />Councilor Grove participated in the Halloween party planning meeting and was excited about the <br />new ideas and volunteers. <br />
