Lauderdale City Hall <br />1891 Walnut Street <br />Lauderdale, MN 55113 <br />Page I of 4 January 14, 2014 <br />Mayor Dains called the City Council meeting to order at 7:35 p.m. <br />C1 <br />k,ouncilors present: Mary Gaasch, Roxanne Grove, and Mayor Jeff Dains. <br />M ��az�iiili <br />Staff present: Heather Butkowski, City Administrator and Kevin Kelly, Deputy City Clerlj <br />FNIayor Dains asked for changes to the meeting agenda. No changes were made to the <br />agenda. Councilor Gaasch moved to approve the agenda. Councilor Grove seconded the <br />motion and it passed unanimously. <br />Councilor Grove moved to approve the December 10, 2013 City Council meeting minutes. <br />Councilor Gaasch seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. <br />Councilor Gaasch moved approval of the claims totaling $247,618.52. Councilor Grove <br />seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. <br />Councilor Grove moved adoption of the Consent Agenda approving the designation of the <br />official newspaper, the 2014 Investment Policy, designation of the official depository and <br />investment institutions (Resolution 0 1 1414A), the Recreation Agreement with the City of <br />Falcon Heights, Pay Equity Compliance Report, and the November financial report. <br />Informational Presentations <br />Cable Franchise Renewal Update -Cor Wilson, Executive Director of North Suburban Cable <br />Commission <br />Wilson reported an increase in new programming and staff hours from 2012 to 2013 by the <br />Access Corporation. <br />With regard to the Cable Commission and Comcast franchise, Wilson reported that Comcast's <br />call center changes lead to a significant increase in service complaints. Additionally, <br />negotiations with Comcast regarding the franchise renewal are on-going. Formal negotiations <br />with Comcast will begin again later this month which leaves a four month window t® come to an <br />agreement. <br />
