LAUDERDALE CITY COUNCIL <br />MEETING MINUTES <br />Lauderdale City Hall <br />1891 Walnut Street <br />F.auderdale, MN 55113 <br />Page 1 of 3 April 22, 2014 <br />Mayor Dains called the City Council meeting to order at 7:34 p.m. <br />Councilors present: Mary Gaasch, Roxanne Grove, and Mayor Jeff Dain <br />Councilors absent: Denise Hawkinson and Lara Mac Lean. I <br />Staff present: Heather Butkowski, City Administrator; Jim Bownik, Assistant to the City <br />Administrator; and Kevin Kelly, Deputy City Clerk. <br />Mayor Dains asked for changes to the meeting agenda. Mayor Dains added an update <br />from the North Suburban Cable Commission public. hearing and Butkowski added a park <br />use application to the agenda. Councilor Grove moved to approve the amended agenda. <br />Councilor Gaasch seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. <br />Councilor Gaasch moved to approve the April 8, 2014 City Council meeting minutes. <br />Councilor Grove seconded the motion and it passed unam*mously. <br />Councilor Gaasch moved approval of the claims totaling $36,381.15. Councilor Grove <br />seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. <br />Councilor Grove moved approval of the Consent Agenda which included the Sign <br />Retroreflectivity Policy, Joint Powers Agreement with Ramsey County for recycling fees, <br />and a recreation agreement with the City of Roseville. Councilor Gaasch seconded the <br />motion and it passed unanimously. <br />Informational Presentation <br />Ramsey County Commissioner Mary Jo McGuire <br />Commissioner McGuire offered her biography and her history as an elected official in the area. <br />As a county commissioner, she is chair of the Active Living Communities Committee, the <br />Legislative Committee, the 1-35 Corridor Committee, the Transportation Advisory Committee, <br />and Mosquito Control Board. McGuire stated one of the big issues the County Board is working <br />through is the redevelopment of TCAAP and improving infrastructure around TC AAP and the <br />rest of the County. McGuire added that the legislature plays a critical role in providing bonding <br />money and other supports to improve the TCAAP area infrastructure. <br />Commissioner McGuire's staff also has worked with Lauderdale, St. Paul, Ramsey County <br />Public Works, and Xcel Energy staff to create a sidewalk along Eustis Street south of Larpenteur <br />Avenue. The Council expressed hope that the partnership will allow a sidewalk project to <br />happen. <br />
