(bl The following are exempt from the definition of "pawnbroker": anv bank <br />regulated by the state of Minnesota. the comptroller of the currency of the United <br />States, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation . the board of gove rnors of the <br />Federal Reserve System, or anv other federal or state a uthorit y and their <br />affiliates: anv bank or savinas and loan whose dep osits or accounts are eligible <br />for insurance by the Federa l Deposit Insurance Cor poration or anv su ccessor to it <br />and all affiliates of those b anks and savinas and lo an as_ soci ations_: anv state or <br />federally chartered credit union: anv industrial loan and thrift c ompany or <br />regulated lender subject to licensing and regu lation by the de aartment of <br />commerce. <br />Subd. 87. PAWNSHOP: "Pawn shop" means the location at which or premises in which <br />a pawnbroker regularly conduc ts business.
