Emergency escape openings must provide a <br />minimum net clear opening size that complies with the MSBC. <br />Subd. 45. Section 704.2 Smoke alarms. Single or multiple-station smoke <br />alarms shall be installed and maintained in Groups R-2, R-3, R-4 at all of <br />the following locations: <br />a. On the ceiling or wall outside of each separate sleeping area in the <br />immediate vicinity of bedrooms. <br />b. In each room used for sleeping purposes. <br />c. In each story within a dwelling unit, including basements and cellars <br />but not including crawl spaces and uninhabitable attics. <br />Exception: Dwelling units in existence at the adoption of this code shall <br />meet smoke alarm location requirement b prior to January 1, 2006. <br />Subd. 46. Section 800 General references. Whenever this code refers to <br />the International Codes, such references shall be deemed to be to the <br />comparable applicable code as adopted by the state. Whenever this code <br />refers to the International Zoning Code, such references shall 6e deemed <br />to be the City of Mounds View Zoning Ordinance. <br />SECTION 3.
