Mounds View City Council January 3, 2000
Regular Meeting Page 6
uncil Member Marty stated the Bulletin and the Focus newspapers are very similar, however, the
Bulletin appears to cover the New Brighton area, while the Focus appears to be directed more
towards the City of Mounds View. He requested clarification regarding the difference in
printing costs.
Assistant to the City Administrator Reed explained that the Focus charges approximately .03
more per line than the Bulletin.
Mayor Coughlin stated it would appear to be in keeping with the Charter that the appointment of
Acting Mayor be made on a rotating basis each year. He requested the Council appoint the
Acting Mayor.
Council Member Thomason indicated she would nominate Council Member Quick. Council
Member Quick respectfully declined.
Council Member Marty nominated Council Member Stigney. He explained that the City's Official Depository is Western Bank, and
the secondary depositories are as indicated in the resolution. He stated Finance Director, Bruce
Kesel will serve as Deputy Clerk.
MOTION/SECOND: Thomason/Marty.
