Mounds View City Council May 10, 2004 <br />Regular Meeting Page 13 <br />~J <br />Ayes - 2 Nays - 3(Gunn/Linke/Quick) Motion failed. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Many/Gunn. To Approve Resolution 6244, a Resolution Establishing <br />Financing for the Mounds View Manufacturing Home Park Second Access Project with Option <br />1 A. <br />Ayes - 4 Nays - 1(Linke) Motion carried. <br />10. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />A. .City Council Minutes April 26, 2004 <br />~J <br />Council Member Gunn requested the following change: The date for Festival in the Park is <br />August 22, 2004. <br />Council Member Stigney requested the following change: On Page 7, Line 18 indicate his taxes <br />went up 30%. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Stigney/Marry. To Approve the City Council Minutes for April 26, 2004 <br />as Amended. <br />11. REPORTS <br />Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 Motion carried. <br />A. Reports of Mayor and Council. <br />Council Member Marty indicated that the Festival in the Park Golf Tournament is scheduled for <br />August 14, 2004. <br />Council Member Gunn indicated that there is someone interested in putting together a <br />snowmobile show in lieu of the car show this year. <br />Council Member Marty indicated that a resident suggested having survey cards available at the <br />Festival for residents to fill out. <br />Mayor Linke commented on the Governor's talk on WCCO that suggested that cites are spending <br />money frivolously on lobbying efforts by stating that the City is a member of the League of <br />Minnesota Cities and a portion of the dues is used to fund lobbying efforts on behalf of cities. <br />He also indicated that it would be cost prohibitive for the City to have either elected officials or <br />Staff monitor events and lobby for the City. <br />Council Member Stigney indicated that a resident had contacted him asking whether he could <br />utilize the Community Center to showcase his band for free and he had directed him to City Staff <br />and the YMCA. <br />
