Mounds View City Council Apri19, 20Q7
Regular Meeting Page 13
• Public Works Director Lee noted that this would be the fnal change order for the City Hall
rehabilitation project noting that these items were discussed back in November and now the
details have been finalized.
Council Member Flaherty indicated he cannot support these, particularly the piping insulation as
it should have been in the contract, if it is needed.
Council Member Stigney said that the City paid the architect to make sure that everything went
smoothly so he agrees with Council Member Flaherty. He then said that he would like to know
where the budget for this project is.
Public Works Director Lee indicated that in November of 2006 Staff laid out the estimated costs
for the project and the change orders were approximately $140,000 with these items accounted
for in that estimate. He then said that he does not have the exact amount for the project but can
provide that. He also noted that there is some grading to be done but the project is within budget.
Council Member Stigney asked for a status on the outdoor signage.
Public Works Director Lee indicated that SEH is working on it and has said that it would take
approximately six weeks or so.
~ Mayor Marty indicated that he is not going along with these change orders either because they
were totally unnecessary and the air conditioning company knocked off only $47.00 on a$2,000
bill and that is ridiculous.
Council Member Flaherty indicated that he agrees that it is a legitimate cost but, the Ciiy
approved the coils at a certain amount of money and, if it was required, then it should have been
in the original proposal.
Council Member Mueller said that a quoted price is a quoted price and they should have gotten
Council approval or be prepared to throw it in for no cost.
MOTION/SECOND: Flaherty/Mueller. To Waive the Reading and Deny Resolution 7064
Approving Change Order No. 37 for the City Hall Rehabilitation Project.
Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 Motion carried.
8.
