Public Hearing to Consider Resolution 7182 Approving the Feasibility <br />Report, Ordering the Project, Authorizing Plans and Specifications for the <br />County Road 10 Trailway Project: Segments 1- 5 <br />Public Works Director Lee provided an explanation of the Feasibility Report for the Highway 10 <br />Trailway Project. Funding for the project will come from a Federal Transportation Grant and the <br />remainder from the City's TIF funds. <br />Acting Mayor Stigney opened the public hearing. <br />Mr. Helzer said that he is surprised that more people are not conc~rned about this and said that <br />this is costing almost $100,000 for a tenth of a mile. He then said that he does not think that the <br />City needs this right now. <br />Hearing no further comments, Acting Mayt~r Stigney closed the public hearing. <br />• Council Member Flaherty indicated that the project has gone up $500,000 in 18 months. He then <br />said that he does not think this needs to be moved on right naw. <br />Public Works Director Lee expiained that the funds are availabie in 2009 and there is <br />approximately 12 to 1$ months after that to use the funds. <br />Council Member ~Vlueller indicated that she would be willing to discuss this further at the work <br />session but would hate to see the City lose the grant funds. <br />Acting ~Vi~yor Stigney said that he has heard similar comments from other residents regarding the <br />cost of this project. <br />MOTION/SECOIVD: Flah~rty/Mueller. First Reading of Ordinance 800, Revising the Mounds View City Charter <br />Pertaining to Miscellaneous and Transitory Provisions Associated with the <br />Frequency of the Preparation of the City Newsletter <br />~ Assistant to the Administrator Crane explained that the intent of this is to reduce the number of <br />issues of Mounds View Matters from six down to four. This will save the City money with <br />prmting and delivery for those addrtional two issues. <br />
