The <br />Aagglund for presenting tte plane for their observation. <br />requested to submit a letter giving an estimate cost for <br />study based on the information which he already 1 <br />drainage survey study <br />council thanked Mr. <br />Mr. Haglund was <br />a village sewer survey <br />The building inspector was requested that if he issue any permits outside <br />of the Clerk's office that those permits be mailed or brought to tl,e Clerk's <br />Office within 2 days.. Motion by Achterkirch, seconded by Sullivan to appoint <br />John O. Koontz as Building Inspector. 5 ayes. <br />Upon recommendation of Electrical Inspector Edmond motion by Achterkirch, <br />seconded by Sullivan to approve electrical contracting license for Bill Richmond <br />Electric Co., 5 ayes. <br />In bringing up the matter of the recommendation of an engineer Trustee <br />Sullivan pointed out that it had been an item of considerable controversy in the <br />past. He stated he had spoken to a Planning Committee member who had said he <br />was very impressed with Engineer Bonestroo's work. He also stated that he had <br />talked with an engineer who said that Otto Bonestroo was a most brilliant <br />engineer and that he probably would become one of the most prominent engineers <br />in the state of Minnesota. Motion by Sullivan; seconded by Achterkirch to <br />appoint Otto G. Bonestroo and Associates as village engineers. Clerk Smith <br />stated that he felt this was a bad time to bring up the appointment of the <br />engineer again. After further� discussion the following vote was taken: <br />Achterkirch and Sullivan, aye; Christensen, Smith and Gibson, no. The motion <br />was defeated. Mr. Crane, Planning Committee Chairman, reported that the <br />Planning Committee was holding two meetings the end of January at which time <br />an engineer should be present. Trustee Sullivan stated that for the next few <br />months and the next few years the Village would he needing considerable technical <br />help with the state aid road project, sewer, sanitary sewer and water projects. <br />Motion by Christensen, seconded by Gibson that the attorney write to Otto <br />Bonestroo notifying him that the storm sewer survey has been discontinued for the <br />present. In view of the fact that Mr. Bonestroo has not been reappointed the <br />Village Engineer he should be requested to submit his reasonable expenses, if <br />any, pertaining to the storm sewer survey project. These expenses are to be <br />referred to the attorney for his examination and recommendation. 4 ayes, Sullivan <br />no. <br />Trustee Sullivan pointed out that the storm sewer study would be a project <br />in addition to the regular village engineer's services and that perhaps the <br />Council would consider an application from Mr. Bonestroo to do the storm sewer <br />study. <br />Motion by Achterkirch, seconded by Smith to recess the meeting until <br />1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 24, 5 ayes. <br />The adjourned meeting was reconvened and called to order by the Mayor <br />at 1:05 P.M. January 24. <br />
