58 <br />contract with Mobile Rs1io Engineering Co. the village is paying .•6.60 a month for service <br />for an eight hour day. Under the proposed contract the village would pay ,B7.70 a <br />month fora guaranteed service of approximately 14 hours a day from 7:00 A.M. to 9:00 <br />P.M. plus the fact Llat service would be rendered after 9:00 P.M. at the contractor's <br />home in New Brighton if necessary. Motion by Smith, seconded by Achterkirch that the <br />contract with Mobile Radio Engineering not be renewed and a letter written to Mobile <br />Radio Engineering to that effect. Lotion carried unanimously. <br />Motion by Gibson, seconded by Christensen that the village enter into a contract <br />with Capitol Electronics, Inc. for the servicing of village mobile radio equipment, <br />said contract subject to the approval of the village attorney. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />The following bids were received for a fire proof, 4 drawer, legal size file: <br />The Mosier Safe Co. $469.00 <br />McClain H a and Schuldt Co. 30, 0 <br />+CCi Zia cum %ra suv ua,ii�ud� v I v Y .Gv <br />Brady Margolis Co. 287.72 F.O.B. Louisville, Hentucky. <br />,Motion by Gibson, seconded by Smith to purchase File from the Brady— Nsrguila <br />Company with the condition thnt thi file be del i.rrereA tc the Vi l l offi,:4• <br />$300.00 or less, if said file cannot be delivered for amount stipulated, the council <br />will= authorize purchase of the Shaw Walker file from McClain Redman and Schuldt Co. <br />for4304.00. Motion carried unanimously. <br />The purchase of a tape recorder was tabled until tte April 6th meeting. <br />The subject of a zoning ordinance was discussed and tabled until the council <br />has met with the Planning Commission to discuss the proposed ordinance submitted <br />by the Planning Commission to the Council. <br />Motion by Sullivan, seconded by Achterkirch to approve Ordinance Iio. 62, an <br />Ordinance governing the relocation of dwelling units in the Village of Mounds View. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mayor Gibson asked the council how t ey wished to handle the appointment of <br />an engineer to prepare the sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and water study. Trustee <br />Sullivan stated that however it is handled he would like to make a motion that <br />whatever decision was made the appointment of the engineer be made by a unanimous vote <br />of the council. Motion seconded by Gibson. Smith opposed this motion on grounds <br />that it would be impossible legally or otherwise to hold the council to a unanimous <br />vote. In view of Smith's statement, Mayor Gibson withdrew his second to the motion. <br />Trustee Sullivan said he would also withdraw Lis motion if the council would verbally <br />agree to do the utmost to arrive at a unanimous decision for the engineer. After <br />considerable discussion regarding each engineering firm a verbal ballot was taken <br />and the firm of Comstock and Davis received three first votes, the firm of Orr Schelen <br />1 first and two seconds, and the firm of Bonestroo and Associates, 1 first and 3 <br />second votes. As a result of this balloting Mayor Gibson made a motion that the <br />firm of Comstock nu Davis be employed to prep:_re a sanitary sewer, store sewer and <br />water survey for lice village. Motion seconded by Cristensen, U_Lbson, Christensen <br />•ind Smith, aye; Achterkirch and Sullivan, no.
