78 <br />Motion amended by Gibson that the clerk write a letter to the Justice of Peace of Arden <br />Hills and Mounds View Villages and advise them to withhold any court hearings on this date <br />and defer them to Tuesday night or other night of their choice. Motion and amended motion <br />seconded by Sullivan. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mayor Gibson informed the council that he and Mr. Koontz and Mr. Wally Skiba met <br />at the Babinski property in the Twelve Oaks Addition on Red Oak Drive to investigate the <br />installation of transit chimneys. The Builder, Mr. Leonard Babinski, agreed to install <br />Class A chimneys on the houses in the aforementioned addition. <br />Mr. Christensen read a list of streets to the council which require oiling and <br />placement of street signs, said streets listed as follows: <br />Greenfield Ave. <br />Groveland Rd. <br />Sherwood Road <br />Red Oak Drive <br />Eastwood Road <br />Bronson Drive <br />Knollwood Drive <br />Hillview Road <br />Sunnyside Road <br />Pleasantview Drive <br />Woodale Drive <br />Woodcrest Drive <br />Woodlawn Drive <br />Edgewood Drive <br />Laporte Drive <br />Greenwood Drive <br />Quincy Street <br />Street Signs at Intersections <br />Pinewood Ct. County Rd. E2 <br />Gloria Circle and Hillview Rd. <br />Greenfield Ave. and Co. Rd. H2 <br />Motion by Sullivan, seconded by Christensen that Mr. Christensen determine from the <br />county the estimated cost per mile for sanding and oiling the above streets: Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />The council requested that the village Engineer check the street widths at Sherwood <br />between Groveland and Fairchild and Fairchild between Sherwood and Highway 10 and report <br />his findings to the council so that easements can be acquired to correct the street widths <br />if necessary. <br />The council directed a letter to be written to Clarence E. Knudson, Regional <br />Director, Minneapolis, Regional Office, Post Office Department, 512 Nicollet Avenue, <br />Minneapolis 2, to investigate the possibilities of Mounds View Village having an in— <br />dividual Post Office and to inquire into the possibility of changing the Village Street <br />Numbers so that a duplication of house numbers will not exist. <br />The Mayor read a letter from Mr. John B. Fredrick, President of the League of <br />Municipalities regarding the retirement of Mr. Clarence Ludwig from that Association. <br />This item of business referred to the Village Attorney to draw up a resolution for <br />Mr. Ludwig and and Mayor Gibson will present it to the convention at International <br />Falls. Resolution to be presented to the council members at the June 15th meeting. <br />Na :r Gibson reported on a T ire Prevent ion Ordinance to be diseiissed at the next <br />Municipal Officials Association meeting. This Ordinance will be presented in the near <br />future so that all Municipalities in t'•e county will have a- 1proxlmately the same type of <br />Fire Prevention Ordinance. <br />The Financial Statement for the period of January 1st to April 31st, 1959 was <br />read by the Clerk. <br />
