106 <br />Attorney l'ieyers gave his report. Letter from Attorney Barna never left his office. <br />Attorney Meyers informed the council of a case regardinc a man who plead guilty in the Mounds <br />View Justice Court to careless driving but plead innocent to leaving the scene of an accident <br />as charged and then asked for a change of court. Motion by Gibson that the village proceed <br />with the prosecution to back up our Justice Court and Police Department in this matter. After <br />a discussion by the council in which.it was pointed out that the members,should know the facts <br />concerning the case the aforementioned motion was stricken and the Justice of.Peace and arrest <br />ing officer will appear before the council at the October 6th meeting to present their side <br />of the case and the council then will decide what to do. <br />Motion by Gibson, seconded by Malvin that the Treasurer be authorized to investigate <br />the possibilities of placing into bonds or separate fund the monies received from the Village <br />of Arden Hills from .purchase of the Village hall until such time as the money is needed for <br />purchase of a new village hall. dodges, Smith, Malvin, Gibson, aye; Christensen abstained. <br />Clerk Smith read a letter fee; Postmaster Sigurd Bertelson. Mayor Gibson to contact the <br />postmasters in St. `aul and Minneapolis in regard to the numbering system to see if arrange- <br />ments can he made to avoid duplication of house numbers. <br />Clerk Smith read a letter from Eugene Monick, County Auditor, regarding condemnation <br />proceedings and assessments concerning such proceedings. Letter filed for reference. <br />The following licenses were presented to the council for approval: Quality Electric <br />Company new electrical contracting license, Pagelkopf Plumbing Company new plumbing contracting <br />license, Royal Aluminum Products, Inc. new general contracting license, Flerrs Plumbing and <br />Heating Company renewal of heating contracting license, Anoka Heating Air Conditioning Company <br />new heating contracting license, Star Excavating Company renewal of excavating contracting <br />license, and Robert W. Nixon renewal of garbage and rubbish collection license. Notion by <br />Gibson, seconded by Hodges to approve the above licenses. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Allan Crane'appeared before the council with the report from the Planning Commission <br />concerning four building permit applications requested by Mr. Groberg. These permits were <br />referred back to the Planning Commission for further action. Motion by Christensen, seconded <br />by Hodges to approve the preliminary proposal which Howard Dahlgren has presented to the <br />council and that he be instructed to draw up a contract along these lines including the <br />changes which the Planning Commission Committee had discussed with his at that time and return <br />it to the attorney for checking and approval. notion carried unanimously. <br />Motion by Gibson, seconded by dodges that ir. David Rudin be appointed to the Planning <br />Commission. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Motion by Malvin, seconded by Hodges that Walter Shiba issue a complaint against Ernest <br />Perron for the repair job of the well at the Pinc jod Club in violation of the building code <br />by not having a license to operate in our village. notion seconied by Hodges. lotion carried <br />unanimously. <br />Motion be Gibson, seconded by Smith that the treasurer's salary be increased to <br />$25.00 per month effective October 1st,' 1959. notion carried anar.imously. <br />Mr. Kenneth Bellinger appeared before the coy ncil with a request for the rurchase of <br />jackets and parkas for Civil Defense patrolmen. <br />
