Proceedings of the Village Council <br />Cd0127 <br />Page 2 <br />Attorney Meyers reported that the council could now issue liquor licenses and that to <br />place the liquor question on the ballot such could only be done by petition. <br />Mayor Gibson read the amendments to our present dog ordinance. Motion by Smith, seconded <br />by Malvin to table said amendments until it can be read by the council. Motion carried. <br />Motion by Smith, seconded by Christensen that information concerning tax forfeited lands <br />given to the Planning Commission for further study to determine if such lands are usable <br />f the village or should be offered for sale by the village publicly. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Walter Skiba, heating inspector, reported on an arrest which was made at a house on Ridge <br />Lane, in violation of the building code, said violation be heard in the Justice Court Thursday <br />evening. <br />Motion by Christensen, seconded by Smith in view of the recommendations from the Village <br />Engineer regarding building on Lots 13 and 14 on Bronson Drive that the four lots in question <br />be red tagged and no building permits issued until provision for storm. water is properly taken <br />care of. Motion carried. <br />Mayor Gibson read bids for the sale of the 1956 Ford police car. Motion by Smith, seconded <br />by Gibson to accept the first bid of 1450 from Ernest W. Gertzen 6521 Central Avenue H.E. and <br />said money to be placed in the Civil Defense account to be held in escrow and to be used with <br />other future monies for rescue unit for the Civil Defense. Motion carried. Letter to be written <br />to all parties who submitted bids on the police car. <br />Mrs. Alice Frits reported that the rinks to have warming houses was to be changed from <br />Oakwood and Hillview playgrounds to Oakwood and Lambert playgrounds. The house on Oakwood has <br />been started and the other will be built starting December 1. <br />Clerk Smith inquired as to who the men were that Mayor Gibson has been meeting with. Mayor <br />Gibson stated these people were looking at some property in the village of Mounds View for <br />industrial purposes. He stated he could not at the present time say who the people were or <br />where the property is they are interested in. Motion by Christensen, seconded by Gibson to set <br />up a committee to handle the prospects of business to come into the area and committee to consist <br />of Chairman and vice chairman of Planning Commission and the members of the council and any <br />members that the party may decide upon. Seconded by Gibson and upon a discussion the second was <br />withdrawn by Gibson. Motion amended by Christensen to read committee to consist of Chairman and <br />Vice Chairman of Planning Commission and Mayor and one member of the council b meet with people <br />who are interested in starting business in Mounds View. Amended motion seconded by Smith.
