The special meeting of the Mounds View Village Coun ^il was called to order at 8 P.M., May 2nd, 1960, at the Arden Hills Village Hall, 1450 W. Hwy. 96, New Brighton, 12, Minnesota. Present were: PROCEEDINGS OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL 630027 VILLAGE OF MOUNDS VIES'! RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA Mayor: Allan B. Crane Clerk Earl E. Smith Trusteest Melford C. Christenson Donald Hodges Perry Malvin Attorney: Richard Meyers Engineers: E.V. Comstock Lester Knutson Fiscal Agents: Mr. Ehlers and Mr. Mann Previous to the meeting ayor Crane called for bids on the Project 1960 -1 on two occasions and promptly at 8 O'Clock he announced that the bids were closed. The meeting then opened with the reading of the bids by the Clerk and by the Engineer, Mr. Comstock, :aid after the bids were rand it was announced that the low bidders names would be announced at the next council meeting on May 9, 1960. Motion by Crane, seconded by Malvin to accept and approve all bids for Project #1960 -1, 5 ayes, soticn n The subject of the liquor ordinance was again presented to the council by Mayor Crane and Trustee Christensen reminded the council that in order to legally vote on the liquor question main a motion must be made to remov.: the liquor ordinance from the table as said ordinance was tabled at the previous meeting. Motion by Hodges, seconded by Malvin to remove the liquor ordinance from the table. 5 ayes, motion carried. A lengthy discus;'on followed from the citizens assembled and members of the council regarding the subject of municipal liquor,police protection, private licenses concerning the liquor problem. Motion by Kalvin, seconded by Hodges to adopt the liquor ordinance as corrected. Crane, Malvin, Hodges, .::e; Christensen and Smith, no; motion carried. A report was given to the council by tha Planning Commission Chairman, Mr. Stole, stating the action taken in the following cases: request by Mrs. Bacon for filling station site to bo rezoned,tabled by the Commission; setback variance request by Ir. Wayne Larson, recommendation to be given to the council at the next meeting; request by Mr. Braaten for subdivision of a lot and to build a secon building site on one lot for the housing of antique cars, recommended by Commission that request not be approved. Motion by Crane, seconded by Smith to deny the application for rezoning and subdivision of Mr. Braaten's property and the building of a second house on the division of one lot for the housing of antique automobiles. 5 ayes, motion carried.
