Proceedings of the Village Council CJt:0$9 Page 4 <br />The Planning; Commission had nothing to report at this meeting but <br />the subject of notifying persons concerned of the Planning CoamissioaS,d <br />action regarding various requests was brought to the attention of <br />Council by Clerk Smith who felt that the Planning Commission should <br />notify persons concerned immediately of the Commissions rocommendatio <br />The remaining members of the council disagreed with this suggestion <br />and that the Clerk's Office should notify persons concerned only. <br />Mr. Ballenger, Civil Defenso Director, presented a bill for 8 <br />Civil Defense Jackets, said jackets were purchased by the men in the <br />Civil Defense during their training period with an understanding that <br />the village would pay for them after the member has shown good faith <br />throu program. ^h their attendance in the Civil Defense and its program. Motion <br />by Smith, seconded by Crane, to make payment of 325.00 to each person <br />contained on the list received from Mr. Ballenger and c}ecks to be <br />prepared to cover approval of claims at this mooting. 'his to come <br />out ok the 1960 budget. <br />The subject of the duplexes presently being built by Mr. Donald <br />Babinski was again brought to the attention of the council by the <br />Building Inspector who stated that in accordance with a plumbing per- <br />mit applied for at the village office by the New FL•ighton Plumbing <br />and Heating Co. for the installation of fixtures in the duplexes <br />mentioned such permit should not be granted by the council as the <br />fixtures designated appeared to be requested for a fourplex or apart- <br />ment house. Mayor Crane recommended that tie attorney for the village <br />contact the attorney for Ilr. Donald Babinski and determine the status <br />of the covenant previously requested by the conncil to be included <br />in the deed for each duplex in question. Village attorney be prepared <br />to report to the council concerning this at the next regular meeting. <br />The council also requested that Hr. Babinski also re- submit plot plans <br />including parking and walkways, etc. for each duplex. <br />The question concerning the construction of houses by Mr. Eastman <br />and that fact that several building discrepancies have not been cor- <br />rected by Mr. Eastman was again brought to the council's attention. <br />The village attorney was instructed to contact the building Inspector <br />to determine if he would sign a complaint against Mr. Eastman. <br />Mayor Crane announced that the St. Paul Community Chest needed <br />a Village Commander to work with Iir. Vince Peterson from the village <br />of New Brighton. Mayor Crane requested anyone interested to please <br />contact Mr. Peterson. <br />The request for parking of a trailer en a lot purchased by Mr. <br />John Ellasson until the house which he is building could be completed <br />was brought to the council's attention by Clerk Smith who received <br />said request by phone in the office. Mir. Eliasson was not present <br />at the time of the council meeting and therefore could not make the <br />formal request himself. Motion by Crane teconded by Smith to deny <br />said request. 5 ayes, motion carried. <br />
