Minutes of the Meeting of October 10, 1960. (Page 6) <br />C l oo <br />Mayor Crane made the following announcementst concerning <br />various meetings to be held during the next two weeks: <br />A league meeting on Thursday October, 13, 1960. <br />A North Suburban Seter meeting on Wednesday October, <br />12, 1960. <br />A Bond Sale at the Village Office on October 18, 1960, <br />Tuesday at 8 ?00 p. m. <br />Mayor Crane also announced that it would be t::e policy of <br />the council that no further water improvements would be made <br />until next Bummer. He stated that petitions for the constructi <br />of water mains would be accepted until February 16, 1961. <br />The subject of the purchase of water meters was brought up <br />by Mayor Crane and Trustee Christensen suggeeted that the Village <br />obtain contracts with several meter companies in order that the <br />village could purchase a number of each kind of meters and test <br />them under operating conditions. Motion was then made by Crane <br />seconded by Malvin to order approximately 1000 meters more or <br />less from the Neptu3:o Company and direct the attorney to pre. <br />pare a contract with the Neptune company stating that said <br />un** x meters would be complete with fittings and that the <br />village would be able to order a few meters from time to time <br />as needed and that no meterw to be delivered by the Neptune <br />Company until so ordered. A discussion then followed concerning <br />the purchase of Neptune meters and Mel Christensen stated that <br />he was not in favor of this and a lengthy discussion followid <br />concerning the merits and so forth of Neptune and Rockwell <br />meters. Upon call of roll on the motion Crane, Hodges and <br />Malvin aye; Christensen no; motion carried. <br />Motion by Malvin seconded by Crane to approve payment of <br />the following bills (See list attached). 4 XXX ayes, moton Carr= <br />Motion by Hodges seconded by Malvin to adjourn the meetidg <br />at 10:32 P.
