PROCEEDINGS OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL <br />VILLAGE OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />The regular meeting of the Village of Mounds View was called to <br />order at 8:10 P.M., Monday June 12th, 1961 at the Red Oak School, <br />Sherwood Road and Red Oak Drive, Minneapolis 21, Minnesota. <br />Present were: <br />Mayors <br />Ad.Dep.Clk.: <br />Trustees: <br />Engineer: <br />Absent were: <br />Trustees: <br />Attorney: <br />Allan B. Blanchard <br />Richard Meyers <br />000069 <br />Mayor Crane declared that the Public Hearing on the house to be <br />moved to the North i of Lot 7, Block 1, Greenfield Addition was open <br />for discussion. Mayor Crane asked for objector's. None came forth. <br />The owner assured the home owners near the property that he would <br />occupy the house and not rent it. Motion by Crane to permit the house <br />to be moved onto the North i of Lot 7, Block 1, Greenfield Addition, <br />seconded by Malvin. 3 Ayes for apprcval. <br />Motion by Malvin, seconded by Hodges to accept the Minutes of the <br />Council meeting of May 22nd, 1961 as presented. 3 Ayes for approval. <br />Motion by Crane, seconded by Hodges to accept the Minutes of the <br />Special Meeting of the Village Council held May 31st as presented. <br />3 Ayes for approval. <br />Civil Defense report was given by C.D. Director, Kenneth Ballenger. <br />He reported that the Civil Defense "Circle of Safety" program gave <br />Safety Checked stickers to 76 cars in two days. He announced that a <br />new 72 hour class for Civil Lefense members would begin June 2Oth. <br />Trustee Hodgea presented a petition signed by residents on Lois <br />Drive, etd. requesting the removal of rats from the Judicial Ditch. <br />Hodges reported that a representative of the Gopher Exterminating Co. <br />and the Clerk examined this area. This Company subsequently submitted <br />an estimate of -from forty -five to seventy dollars by using gas and not <br />poison bait. Motion by Hodges, seconded by Malvin to spend up to <br />seventy -five dollars for rat removal in this infested area. 3 Ayes. <br />Trustee Hodges reported on the Recreation Committee Meeting held <br />June 7th, 1961 at the Village office. The Committee will open the bids <br />on June 21, for the installation of the fountains to be used in the <br />Village parks. He reported that night watch lights will be installed <br />on Greenfield and Lambert Parks. He announced the selection of Mr. <br />Joseph La Voie as the new Park Maintenance Superintendent. Motion by <br />Hodges, Seconded by Crane that Mr. Joseph La Voie be hired as Mounds <br />View Park Maintenance Superintendent. 3 Ayes for approval. <br />Mayor Crane reported on the Police Commission Meeting held June <br />lst. He said that the Police will make extra effort to enforce the <br />10 P.M. Curfew Ordinance for children under 18 years. <br />
