2 <br />Minutes of June 12th, 1961 Council Meting- Continued <br />000070 <br />Motion by Crane, seconded by Hdges, the Village Attorney be <br />authorized to prepare an Ordinance accepting the State Law concerning <br />Police Civil Service. 3 Ayes for approval. <br />Motion by Crane seconded by Malvin, requesting he Attorney to <br />prepare first draft of Ordinance establishing a Police Civil Service <br />Commission. 3 Ayes for approval. <br />Motion by Crane'seconded by Hodges, authorizing body work on <br />Squad Car #692 (Ford) at a cost of 386.85. 3 Ayes for approval. <br />Mayor Crane read the monthly report of the Police Department for <br />May. During 535 Patrol hoursi there were 133 calls in the Village, 4 <br />persons to jail; 8 hospital runs and 44 traffic tags issued. An <br />electric Speed Timer was Used on Co. Rd. H -2, where 87 cars were checked. <br />Mayor Crane reviewed the Dogcatcher's report for the months of <br />March And Apriis <br />Triidteie Malvin reported that further Complaints from individuals <br />regarding the open sewer drain on the Herrman property at 2439 Ridge <br />Lane, This matter to be referred to the Attorney. <br />Mayor Crane reported on the taxes within the Village, reviewing <br />the tax structure, and its relative mill rate to other areas. <br />An amendment to the Ordinance granting the Gas Franchise to No. <br />States Power Co. was submitted in a letter signed by Mr. E. V. Bergstrom, <br />Supervisor Extensions Department of N.S.P.. The amendment would replace <br />Section 2 in the present Ordinance #83 "No gas mains shall hereafter <br />be laid by the Grantee except upon application to the Village Engineer, <br />and permission therefore granted by said Village Engineer, subject to <br />the approval, however, by the Council by Resolution <br />Motion by Crane, seconded by Hodges to accept this as a substitute <br />for the present Section 2 of Ordinance #83, also that this be referred <br />to the Village Attorney for incorporation into, rather than an amend- <br />ment of the Ordinance. 3 Ayes for approval. <br />Les Knutson submitted twelve Engineer's estimates for Council <br />approval, they were as follows: <br />#1, Fairbanks Morse,Final ^stimate -Well #1, .17,975.00 <br />Motion to pay by Crane, seconded by Malvin. 3 Ayes. <br />#2, Herbst Const.
