-3- <br />Minutes of July 24thi 1961 Council I <br />00 0209 <br />Motion by Crane to approve Building Permit at 7809 Eastwood Dr. <br />for a 6ftX8ft playhouse. Seconded by Hodges. 5 Ayes. <br />Mr. Skiba and Mr. Boog were directed to draw up a notice to be <br />inserted in the local papers regarding illegal water connections. <br />The matter of a possible sub- standard home at Fairchild and Sherwood <br />Rd. was referred to I'Ir. Skiba. <br />The Engineer reported to the Council on his recommendations <br />regarding (later Project 1961 -1. <br />The Village Engineer recommended the acceptance of the low bid by <br />Lametti Sons, Inc. for Water Project 1961 -1. Motion by Crane to <br />accept low bid of Lametti Sons, Inc. in the amount of 01,837.0O for <br />Water Project 1961 -1, with a 15% contingency amount bringing the total <br />price to 348,112.55. Seconded by Hodges. 5 Ayes. <br />Mr. `I.O. Frits, 8072 Long Lake Road requested permission to speak <br />and received it from the Mayor. <br />Mr. Frits stated that because of some misunderstanding or for some <br />unknown reason his employer had been told that it was the fault of Mr. <br />Frits, that the water filtration plant bid was awarded to the D.7. Hickey <br />Co., and further that his company (Brown Steel Tank Co.) would engineer <br />the job for the '.ickey Co. Mr. Frits further stated that because of this <br />his job was jeprodized and requested that a letter be sent to his <br />employers, with a copy to be sent to Mr. Vern Luther, Rep. of Layne <br />Minnesota Co. <br />After some discussion the Clerk was instructed to draft the letter <br />requested and send it as soon as possible so as to clear up this matter. <br />The Attorney read a letter from the D.I. Hickey Co. stating that <br />the company would not sign the guarantee as specified when the bid was <br />awarded. This matter was discussed by a representative of the Co. and <br />Council'mombef at,sonielength, and :then was referrod to the. Attorney, <br />The meeting was recessed for five minutes at 10:05P.M. Called <br />to order by Crane at 10 :10 P.N. <br />Mr. '.!alter Lazarz and Mr. Lee IIedrick presented a proposal for the <br />intersection of highway 8 and 10(North East corner). This proposal uas <br />referred to the Planning Commission and the Village Planner for con- <br />sideration and recommendation. <br />The Engneer presented maps regarding the drainage of Lambert <br />Park. (copy on file) This matter to be discussed at agenda meeting, <br />August 7th, 1961. <br />A copy ofa letter from the Engineer to the N.S.P. Co., Gas Main <br />Division was placed on file. The engineer further reported that he did <br />not yet have the final maps of the proposed gas lines and therefore the <br />Council would not act upon them at this time. <br />The Clerk's office was instructed to write a letter to the <br />Planning Cousultant re his offer of doing a layout of the <br />
