PROCEEDINGS, OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL <br />VILLAGE DF.MOUNDS VIEW <br />RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />The regular meeting of the Mounds View Village Council <br />to order by Mayor Crane at S :Od P.M., October 23rd, 1961 at <br />School, Sherwood Rd. and Fled Oak Dr., Minneapolis 21, Minn. <br />Present were: <br />Mayor: <br />Clerk: <br />Trustees: <br />Engineer: <br />Ad. Blanchard <br />Perry Malvin <br />Donald Hodges <br />Melford Christensen <br />Les Knutson <br />Paul Boog <br />Walter Skiba <br />OJ015:2 <br />was called <br />the Red Oak <br />Mr. Lohmar from N.S.P. Electric Co. presented a new contract for <br />electric service to pump anti well :#1. <br />This was discussed and found to be favorable to the Village as the <br />"peak demand" hours and penalties were deleted from this contract. <br />Motion by Christensen to adopt Resolution #90 entitled "A resolution <br />adopting a contract for electrical service at pump and well site #1 <br />subject to approval by attorney and engineer. <br />Seconded by Malvin. 5 Ayes. <br />Motion by Malvin to accept minutes of October 9th meeting as <br />presented. Seconded by Christensen. 5 Ayes. <br />Police Commission report was given by Mayor Crane. (copy on file) <br />He reported that thirty -five applicants for the patrolman position would <br />be given written tests in the near future. <br />He further reported that Mrs. Kaines, representing the Pinewood <br />School P.T.A., requested a change of speed limits on Co. Rd. I near the <br />school, and /or a four way stop at Co. Rd. I and Quincy St. <br />The clerk was instructed to forward a letter to the County Engineer <br />requesting a survey of traffic at this pbint_and possible iowe =jny �f <br />speed limits, and to further incorporate into this letter the actual <br />recommendation of the Police Commission. <br />Motion by Christensen to send work order to County to have snow <br />removed and streets sanded as needed this winter. Seconded by Blanchard. <br />5 Ayes. <br />The matter of Gloria Circle was brought up and discussed. Mr. <br />Christensen reported that: <br />1. Gloria Circle is a 24 ft. road on a 50 ft. right of way. <br />2. The road was graded properly as requested. <br />3. Approximately 121/2 ft. on each side of road remains loose sand. <br />4. The terrace or .slope on the east side of the road is causing <br />most of the trouble. <br />Mr, Knutson stated that unless this embankment is sodded, there would <br />likely be no further correction possible at this time. <br />Mr. Christensen stated that the road would receive another shot of <br />oil and further grading yet this fall. <br />
