00154 <br />-3- <br />October 23rd, 1961 Council meeting (con't) <br />Motion by Malvin to hire Mr. Edward Christian, 7917 Eastwood Rd., <br />at $1.50 per hour plus per mile car allowance to assist in Water <br />Department, Seconded by Blanchard. 5 Ayes. <br />The Engineer reported on a meeting he had with the Engineer from <br />Spring Lake Park in regards to putting w ter into Lakeside Park. <br />Motion by Christensen'to instruct thb Engineer to enter into the <br />necessary negotiations to perform work on Lakeside Park by way of a <br />change order or by direct contact with cohtte to s at an estimate cost <br />to the Village of $762.00 and a total cost to both villages of $1.275.00. <br />Seconded by Hodges. 5 Ayes, <br />The Mayor stated that the Council was Waitii7g foi final plans <br />for 35E to be submitted to the Council, bbfoke action would be taken. <br />Mr. Christensen stated he would diaw,up p1a for an interchange at' <br />Co. Rd. Jr and 35 to present to the Council as a Otoryosal to be forwarded <br />to the State Highway Department. <br />The Engineer reported that deferred payment of the $2,400.00 gas <br />hook -up fee to N.S.P. for service at well site #2 would result in paying <br />almost three times that amount over a five year period. <br />Motion by Blanchard that the Village use gas as a power supply on <br />well and pump site #2. <br />Seconded by Malvin. 5 Ayes. <br />Meeting was recessed at this point. <br />Called to order at 9:50 by Mayor Crane. <br />A letter from the Fire Underwriters Bureau was read and placed on <br />file. Said letter was in regards to the placing of the Village of Mounds <br />View in class 8 which results in a lower cost of insurance rates. <br />An Ordinance entitled "Firearms was read and discussed. <br />Motion by Malvin to adopt Ordinance #88. Seconded by Hodges. 5 Ayes. <br />A public notice regarding deferred meter deposits was read and <br />presented to the local papers. <br />Motion by Hodges to adopt deferred meter deposit policy. Seconded <br />by Christensen. 5 Ayes. <br />A list of streets on which water in now available was read and <br />presented for publication. This included all of p:ojact 1960 -3 and all <br />of 1961 -1 except Fairchild Ave. (Thi:; notice is to comply with <br />Ordinance #74, Section 27 as roqua.zed; <br />A resolution reducing the tax levy for Bond Redemption Fund from <br />$20,800.00 to $00 was read, <br />Motion by Crane to adopt resolution #89.
