-2- <br />Motion by Sullivan to direct the Police Department to returnO J O 1 2 6 <br />a confiscated weapon to its owner, Mr. Gayle Blesi, 416 Sanburnal Avenue. <br />Seconded by Malvin. 5 Ayes <br />The Clerk was instructed to notify the Police Department of this <br />action. <br />A number of residents appeared regarding the drainage problem <br />at Groveland Road and Bronson Drive. <br />The Engineer presented a report on this project to the Council <br />(on file) and explained what needed to be done. <br />Motion by Blanchard to urlertake the Groveland- Bronson Storm <br />Sewer Project, directing the Attorney to obtain necessary easements <br />and the Engineer to receive informal bids. Seconded by Sullivan. 5 Ayes <br />Mr. James Haluptzok appeared with the final plat for Haluptzok <br />Terrace requesting Council action. <br />Motion by Sullivan to approve final plat plan for Haluptzok's <br />Terrace and directing the Clerk to affix the Village seal over his <br />signature on said plat plan. Seconded by Malvin. 5 Ayes <br />Mr. Haluptzok requested that water, storm sewer and street <br />projects be started in this area, with the assessment for said <br />improvement going against individual lots, with work to commence in 1963. <br />Motion by Crane to have the Engineer prepare preliminary plans <br />for street improvement, water and storm sewer in Haluptzok's Terrace. <br />Said work to commence with the 1963 construction season. <br />Seconded by Hodges. 5 Ayes. <br />The Mayor read the Police report for August 1962 and it was <br />placed on file. <br />The Mayor read a letter of resignation from Patrolman Ralph <br />Slifer. Motion by Crane that the resignation of Patrolman Slifer <br />be accepted with deep regret by the Council. Seconded by Blanchard. <br />5 Ayes. <br />The Clerk was directed to send a letter to Mr. Slifer notifying <br />him of action taken and expressing the gratitude of the Village for <br />seven years of public service as an officer on our Police Force. <br />Motion by Crane to hire Mr. David T. Davis as night patrolman <br />at a salary of $50.00 per month for a six month probationary <br />period. Seconded by Malvin. <br />Mr. Davis' qualifications and his position on the Police <br />eligibility roster were studied and discussed. <br />Roll call on this motion. 5 Ayes. <br />The Clerk was. instructed to notify Mr. Davis of his appointment. <br />Copy of letter to Police Commission and Chief of Police. <br />The Mayor read an announcement of a regional meeting of the <br />League of Minn. Municipalities on October 3 at White Bear Lake. <br />Motion by Blanchard to reserve space for seven delegates to <br />said meeting. Village to pay expenses incurred. Seconded by Malvin.SAyes <br />A letter regarding the Governor's conference on Youth Traffic <br />Safety on September 17, 1962 at the St. Paul Campus, University of <br />Minnesota, was read by the Mayor. <br />Motion by Crane to have the Chief of Police select one or two <br />delegates from the Public Safety Department to attend said conference <br />and represent the Village. Village to pay expenses incurred. <br />Seconded by Sullivan. 5 Ayes. <br />
