PROCEEDINGS OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL <br />VILLAGE OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />0j003'7 <br />The regular meeting of the Mounds View Village Council was called to <br />order by Mayor Hodges at 8:10 P.M., March 23, 1964 at 2401 Highway #10. <br />Present Were: <br />Mayor: <br />Trustee: <br />Trustee: <br />Trustee: <br />Clerk: <br />Donald Hodges <br />Charles LaVaque <br />Ingram Rusted <br />John L. Sullivan <br />Lloyd J. Blanchard <br />Also Present: <br />Attorney: Richard Meyers <br />Engineer: Les Knutson <br />Public Works: Walter Skiba <br />Administrative Clerk: Paul Boog <br />Motion by LaVaque to approve the minutes of March 9, 1964 as present- <br />ed. Seconded by Sullivan. 5 Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Clerk Blanchard reported that the N.S.S.S.D. let bids for additional <br />construction. <br />Gene Skiba announced that he was willing to give the Village a thirty <br />foot easement on his property. This proposed road easement would be for <br />660 ft. Motion by Sullivan to direct the Attorney to prepare an Ease- <br />ment from Mr. Skiba. This is to be an extension of Quincy from Oakland <br />Ave. te+ Highway #8. Seconded by LaVaque. 5 yes. Motion carried. <br />Mr. Werner, resident from Sherwood Road, asked about the progress of <br />the extension of Silver Lake Road. The Attorney replied that a letter was <br />sent to the County Engineer to designate Red Oak Drive North of Highway <br />#10 as the extension route. <br />Mr. James Schlichtmann reported that the Mounds View Businessmen's <br />Association is planning to co- spr'nsor an Easter Egg Hunt for Pre School <br />and School children thru the 5th grade. Motion by Hodges to authorize the <br />use of the Village Hall and grounds for Saturday, March 28, between 2:00 <br />and 4:00 P.M. to he used for the First Annual Easter Egg Hunt and author- <br />ize the Recreation Committee to spend up to twenty dollars for this event. <br />Seconded by Rusted. 5 Ayes. Motion carried. <br />The minutes of the Planning Commission meeting held March 17, 1964 <br />were read by LaVaque. Motion by Blanchard to concur with the Planning <br />Commission's recommendation to approve the preliminary plot by Gulf Oil <br />Company for construction of a service station in the South corner of 11.6 <br />acres(a portion of the S.E.t of the S.E. u of Section 8, Township 30, <br />Range 23) on which Gulf Oil "ompany has an option, subject to further <br />evaluation of ancess onto H ;hway Avenue and subject to giving the Village <br />a minimum 60 foot easement of the Easterly and South easterly line of <br />
