-3- <br />0d0124 <br />The Attorney and Engineer answered questions about the <br />extension of Silver Lake Road.Construction of this street South of <br />Highway 10 in 1965 but that North of Highway 10 is doubtful in 1965. <br />Mayor Hodges read a letter from Mr. G.E.Harmon, requesting <br />use of a rink designated as a hockey rink at Hillview and Lambert Parks <br />and use of a non hockey rink at Hillview Park. Also requested warming <br />horses open and warm with an attendant present. The hockey schedule <br />is from 1 :00 P.M. to 2:30 P.M., January 2 to February 13, 1965, for <br />4th, 5th and 6th grade boys. <br />Mayor Hodges submitted the annual report of the Suburban <br />Ramsey County Nursing Service. <br />Motion by Hodges to appoint the following to the Police <br />Civil Service Commission to become effective January 1, 1965 <br />Mr. Glen Dawson -2201 Lambert Avenue to the three year term. <br />Mr. Donald Schaffhausen 2000 County Road H -2 to the two year term. <br />Mr. Lowell Uber 2105 Hillview Road to the one year term. <br />Seconded by Schott. 4 Ayes. Motion Carried. <br />Trustee Rustad read the October B and E Patrol Report <br />(on file) and the October Police Department Report. <br />Motion by Rustad to install a street sign at the corner of <br />Red Oak Drive and County Road H -2 and also a street sign at the corner <br />of Red Oak Drive and Longview. Seconded by La Vague. 4 Ayes. <br />Motion Carried. <br />Motion by Rustad to instruct the Clerk to have N.S.P. <br />install a street light at Red' Oak Drive and County Road H -2.• This <br />request from a petition from residents in this area. Seconded by <br />S7.hott. 4 Ayes. Motion Carried. <br />Trustee Rustad stated that several persons had talked <br />to him about fluoridation of Village water and he believed that a <br />petition would be presented in the near future. <br />9:00 P.M. Mayor Hodges declared that the Public Improvement Hearing <br />be opened to discuss the Water Main Extension on Fairchild Avenue <br />from County Road H -2 to Woodcrest. <br />The Administrative Clerk read the printed notice. The <br />Engineer explained that the County intends to extend Silver Lake Road <br />through Fairchild Avenueand it would be at least four years before any <br />cut into the road for improvements could be made. The estimated cost <br />is $4.00 per foot. The mayor asked for those in favor of this <br />improvement. <br />Mr. Mrs. George Koskinen 2061 Woodale Drive In Favor <br />Mr. David Mueller 5169 Red Oak Drive In Favor. <br />Mr. Ed Dropps 7039 Knollwood Drive In Favor <br />Mrs. M. 'Winters 2049 Woodcrest Drive In Favor <br />Mayor Hodges asked for those who opposed this project. <br />None appeared. Mayor Hodges closed the Hon inn at 9:15 P.M. <br />Trustee Rustad read the Civil Defense activities on Halloween <br />Night. Read a thank you letter from the Mounds View Police Department <br />to the Civil Defense. Reported that a Mr. Jack Yost is to conduct a <br />Civil Defense course at the Village Hall. <br />1 <br />
