-2- <br />The +Attorney was directed to, prepare an agreement with <br />National Funds, Inc. regarding the construction of above mentioned <br />property for Council approval. <br />At 9:00 P.M. the Public Hearing for the Arden Avenue <br />improvements (street and water) was opened by the Mayor. <br />The Clerk read the legal notices as published and certified <br />to the mailing of the same. <br />The following are listed as objectors to the project: <br />1. Mr. Strong 8230 Long Lake Road Cost to high no benefit <br />Mr. Spagenski 8231 Eastwood Road Cost to high for benefit recd. <br />Mr. Charles Larson, developer, appeared in favor of the <br />improvements stating that the other properties involved could be <br />sub- divided also, aslwas the portion of Nordstroms property that Mr. <br />Larson was involved with. <br />The Engineer stated that cost estimates were made on the <br />high side and actual cost would certainly be lower. <br />The mayor called three times for further objectors and <br />there were none. <br />Hearing closed at 9:35 P.M. <br />The Council agreed to reach a decision on the matter by <br />Monday, August 16, 1965. <br />Mr.Rustad presented the Police Report for July and the <br />Band E Patrol report for July. (on file) <br />Mr. La Vaque presented the water department report for July. <br />A request to regrade Oakwood Drive was referred to Mr. <br />La Vaque. <br />Motion by La Vaque to allow a variance (side yard set -back) <br />requested leaving 5' (five feet) on East side of house. Five foot <br />variance allowed for Mr. E. Johnson 2278 Lois Drive. <br />Seconded by Malvin. 5 Ayes. <br />Mr. Malvin reported that seven property owners in the <br />Lois Knoll disaster area had been orderd to cleanup their basements <br />due to water, trash etc. as well as the County Road I apartments. <br />Mr. Robert Edmond, Electrical Inspector, reported that <br />there were only four trailers left in the disaster struck homes. <br />The Council announced that all permits for temporary <br />trailer parking would be issued by the Council from this date on. <br />The Attorney was directed to investigate a solution to the <br />problem created by the Hamilton house on Knoll Drive which is becoming <br />a nuisance and a health hazard. <br />The building inspector reported that approximately 20 homes <br />were under construction in the tornado area, <br />The Clerk's Office' was directed to attach to all new heating <br />permits the new requirement for 6" flu pipe as per Ordinance 125. <br />The new Civil Defense Ordinance and operational plan will <br />be presented for action at the next meeting. <br />
