Mr. Lang read the Planning Commission Minutes of March <br />15, 1966. Seconded by Johnson. 5 ayes <br />The Council expressed their appreciation to Charles <br />Jackson and the Civil Defense for the wonderful job they did in <br />welcoming home the Mounds View Basketball Team. <br />The Engineer read a letter to the Council regarding bids <br />for sewer and water project 1966 -1 which were opened March 21, 1966. <br />Sanitary Sewer 1966 -1 is part of the original Sanitary Sewer Project <br />1964 -1. Hearings were held on December 5, 12, 19, 1963 and January <br />9, 1964. <br />Motion by Blanchard to concur with the Engineers recom- <br />mendation and awar contract for Sewer and Water Project 1966 -1 <br />to low bidder, Northern Contracting in the amount of $61,000.00 <br />using plastic pipe. (Base Bid 2). Seconded by Lang. <br />5 ayes <br />At 7:30 p.m. this evening bids were opened for Sewer and <br />Water Improvement 1966 -2 with the Council in attendance. (Bid <br />tabulation attached.) <br />A representative from F. D. Chapman Construction Company <br />stated that there intent was to have the project completed by June <br />1, 1966. <br />Motion by Rustad to concur with the Engineers recommend- <br />ation and award the Sewer and Water Improvement Project 1966 -2 <br />contract to the low bidder, F. D. Chapman Construction Company <br />in the amount of $43,181.75. Seconded by Malvin. 5 ayes. <br />The Attorney is to prepare a clause to be inserted in the <br />contract stating that if the project is not completed by June 1, 1966 <br />the contractor will pay the additional $50.00 due N.S.S.S.D. if <br />connections are not availab?n. This is 550.00 per REC. <br />Mr. Meyers reported that he signed the final certifica- <br />tion of Federal Funds for 1.E.P. Tornadl in the amount of $70,712.36. <br />Letter to Highway Department requesting refund of payment <br />for work done during tornado disaster, a such work was not covered <br />under O.E.P. funds. <br />Meeting. <br />The Liquor Closing Ordinance was referred to the Agenda <br />
