MSP (Neisen Pickar) <br />Councilman Pickar's Report <br />2 <br />was tay_ed until later in the meeting when the developer would be present. A <br />motion was made by Councilman Baumgartner and seconded by Councilman Hodges to <br />approve the request, but the motion and second were withdrawn. <br />To adopt Resolution No. 568 apportioning the assessments on <br />Division No. 44896. 5 Ayes <br />Councilman Hodges Report <br />MS (Hodges- Johnson) To accept the resignation of Maxine Neumann, Administrative <br />Secretary, effective May 31st, 1972. 5 Ayes <br />MSP (Hodges Pickar) To approve the appointment of Mrs. Maridelle Wamhoff, as <br />Administrative Secretary for eight hours per day effective May 23rd, 1972 at a rate <br />ogj $2.70 per hour during the six month probationary period with an increase to <br />$2.90 per hour thereafter; and to approve the appointment of Mrs. Arlene Stafford <br />as Clerk Typist for six hours per day, effective June 5th, 1972 at the rate of <br />$2.55 per ho{ir during the six month probationary period with an increase to $2.75 <br />per hour thereafter. <br />MSP (Neisen- Johnson) To amend the previous motion to approve the employment of <br />both employees subject to receipt of a statement of their physical condition <br />from their Doctor. <br />MSP (Neisen- yckar) To approve the original motion as amended. <br />Councilman Hodges presented a hat to Attorney Meyers which was given him to <br />present to Mr. Meyers by Commissioner Ed Salverda. The hat was a prize awarded <br />(supposedly because Mr. Meyers name was drawn as a lucky winner) from a drawing <br />held by the new Horse and Rider Store which recently opened in Mounds View., Mr. <br />Meyers graciously accepted the hat with the comment "I'll get even for this <br />and declined to wear it for the public. <br />Councilman Johnson's Report <br />Councilman Johnson reported on the meeting he attended at the Fridley Municipal <br />Building at which the Metropolitan Sewer Board presented its Five Year Capital <br />Improvement Budget. He stated that research was contir.uing on various alternatives <br />relative to the construction of sewer mains and facilities in an attempt to <br />minimize costs. <br />MSP (Johnson Baumgartner) To authorize the purchase of an auger for $157.00 for <br />the Public Works Department to enable the Village to place and replace street <br />sign posts and possibly hockey posts more efficiently. <br />Councilman Pickar stated that the Lakeside Park Commission will meet on Wednesday <br />to decide on job applicants for the summer, and that Lakeside beach will open <br />on June 6th, 1972. <br />Mayor Neisen called a hearing to order at 8:30 P.M. to consider the issuance of <br />a special use permit to Keith Harstad Lo construct 72 townhouse units.
