Washburn. 3 Ayes <br />Johnson Naye <br />MSP (Pickar- Johnson) To deny the transient merchants license for Luis Humberto <br />Jauregui Topete, 10710 Mississippi Blvd., Coon Rapids, Minn. 55433 because of <br />unfavorable reports from the City of Blaine and the Ci,,y of Coon Rapids. <br />Councilman Hodges stated that the Recreation Committee has tentatively agreed on an <br />October 3, 1972 date for submission to the voters of another park bond issue. The <br />Council voiced preliminary approval of the bond issue, but decided to wait to set the <br />election date until the exact amount can be determined. <br />Councilman Hodges read a letter from Mike MacNamara, Director of Mounds View Athletic <br />Association commending the public works crew and Councilman Baumgartner and himseif for <br />the fine cooperation that his association has received during the year in maintaining <br />the Village ball fields in such excellent condition. <br />4 Ayes <br />MSP (Johnson- Hodges) To approve the following bills: General checks #6315 consecutive <br />thru #6374 and Payroll checks #2853 thru #2878. Total disbursements $57,603.34. 4 Ayes <br />MSP (Hodges- Johnso.i) To approve the final plat of T.V. Construction Inc. Plat 1 and <br />to authorize the Mayor and Clerk to sign it. 4 Ayes <br />MSP (Pickar- Hodges) To approve the following election judges and counters during <br />1972. <br />Precinct #1: Judges; Marilyn Benolkin, Chrm., Roscile Hillsdale, Jane Nunn, Pearl <br />Falck Counters; Joan Godeke, Isabelle Willie, Helen Kuntz, LaDelle Mackeben, Gladys <br />Roberts, and Donna Turner. <br />Precinct #2; Judges; Doris Welty, Chrm., Jan Jurgenson, Norma Uber, Ida Mae Larsen <br />Counters; Jean Miller, Ruth Cox, Dorothy Winters, Elsie Olmstead, Geraldine Erickson, <br />and Elvers Moore. <br />Precinct #3; Judges; Lenore Kinderman, Chrm., Jan Mortenson, Lydia Groth, Ruth Erickson, <br />Betty Piehowski. Feick. <br />Counters; Cathy Westling, Vivian Hjelm, Ralph Hanggi, Donna Fearing. 4 Ayes <br />lerk Zylia read a portion of a letter from the Pollution Control Agency asking that <br />no construction be allowed on the Century Motor Freight facility until adequate <br />measures are planned for the protection of the watershed area. A copy of a letter mailed <br />to Mr. FranktBonello of Century Motor Freight was also received, which stated that no <br />construction may be started on their facility until the Pollution Control Agency grants <br />to Century Motor Freight a waste disposal permit. <br />Councilman Hodges' Report <br />Councilman Hodges gave a report on the activities of the Recreation Committee which <br />included obtaining estimates to move the Ron Hedin garage to Greenfield Park to be <br />used as a warming house. The Committee also investigated the feasibility of constructing <br />a skating rink at Edgewood School. The Committee is presently creating an ordinance <br />which outlines the membership and the activities of the Recreation Committee. <br />
