Councilman Johnson's Report <br />4 <br />Councilman Johnson directed Clerk Zylla to make an analysis of the total number of <br />r ours which are devoted to parks for the period of January 1, 1972 through August 1, <br />972. Councilman Johnson felt the analysis would prove useful in determining whether <br />the parks were receiving their share of man hours. <br />Councilman Johnson instructed Walter Skiba, Building Inspector to check a complaint <br />that homes were being built by White Oak Builders in Red Oak Estates with only one <br />door. <br />Councilman Johnson also asked that a letter be sent to all garbage haulers asking <br />that they attempt to maintain a regular schedule of garbage pickup and that they <br />be reminded that garbage cans or bags are not to be left at the curb. He asked that <br />a notice also be published in the New Brighton Bulletin. <br />Coµncil Johnson asked to.have the police investigate a complaint that the gas <br />service station on Groveland and Highway #10, operated by William Gillespie, was <br />turning into a junk yard. <br />Councilman Pickar's Report <br />Councilman Pickar stated that he had missed the July Lakeside Park Commission meeting <br />due to National Guard camp. He said the next meeting was scheduled for August 23, <br />1972. <br />Mayor Neisen asked Councilman Pickar to request the Commission to investigate whether <br />1 .ifeguards at Lakeside Park were manning their elevated seating positions on the beach. <br />e stated that he noticed them at the beach house. <br />Engineer Boehm's Report <br />MSP (Johnson- Pickar) To release the $5,000.00 certified check of Johnson Brothers <br />subject to the approval of the Public Works Superintendent. The check was originally <br />turned over to the Village as a guarantee that certain patching be performed on Long <br />Lake Road between County Road H2 and Ridge Lane. 4 Ayes <br />MSP (Hodges Pickar) To approve the adendum to the preliminary report for Sewer, Water <br />and Street Improvement Project 1972 -3. 4 Ayes <br />The adendum includes the improvements to be constructed in Red Oak Estates Plat #2 <br />which have a total estimated cost of $188,400.00. <br />Clerk Zylla announced that he has talked with Ramsey County regarding the traffic control <br />device on Silver Lake Road and County Road H2. The replied that they have worked up <br />accident data, sketched the intersection and are currently taking a traffic count. <br />Clerk Zylla announced that the Village codification of the ordinances was received from <br />Attorney Meyers on July 27, 1972. <br />MSP Neisen- Hodges) To set an assessment hearing for September 11, 1972 at 9 o'clock <br />for the property Wesc of Spring Lake Road on County Road J to include 1748 and 1780 <br />
