-4- <br />Hanson, in the Public Works Department as a permanent employee. 5 Ayes <br />Councilman Johnson announced that there will be an informational hearing on September <br />12th, 1973 at the Fridley City Hall on the Metropolitan Sewer Board's capital improve- <br />ment program. <br />Councilman Johnson asked the police to check into a report of a junk car and noxious <br />weeds on Skiba Drive. <br />Councilman Baumgartner's Report <br />Councilman Baumgartner announced that the Recreation Commission met on August 30, <br />1973 but there was no quorum. <br />MSP (Baumgartner- Hodges) To accept the resignation of John Rozman from the Mounds <br />View Recreation Commission. 5 Ayes <br />MSP (Baumgartner Pickar) To appoint Jackie Copeland to the Recreation Commission as <br />a regular member. 5 Ayes <br />Councilman Baumgartner acknowledged receipt of a grading plan for Greenfield Park <br />from Engineer Bearden. <br />MS (Baumgartner- Hodges) To direct Attorney Meyers to incorporate a job description <br />for the Recreation Director into the Municipal Code. <br />Motion and Second were withdrawn pending further study by the Council. <br />Attorney Meyers was asked to prepare a joint powers agreement between School District <br />#621 and the Village of Mounds View regarding a future skating rink at the northwest <br />corner of the Edgewood School property. <br />Councilman Pickar's Report <br />Councilman Pickar stated that the Lakeside Park Commission will be meeting on September <br />11, 1973. He also informed the Council about a meeting he attended which involved <br />discussion of the formation of a Surburban League. He declared that there is a <br />possibility he would recommend the Council join the league at a later date. <br />Attorney Meyers Report <br />Attorney Meyers declared that he and the appraiser will be out to examine the Minar <br />and Downing properties Wednesday morning. <br />Attorney Meyers gave the Council a copy of the proposed amendment to the subdivision <br />regulations dealing with the dedication of park lands. <br />Engineer Bearden's Report <br />Engineer Bearden stated he has spoken with H S Asphalt Company and he expects them <br />
