February 10, 1975
Mayor Johnson read a letter from State of Minnesota Department of Admini-
stration which consisted of a list of available commodity contracts through
the State.
Mr. Leonard Gareis, 5046 Silver Lake Road, asked about the home occupation
ordinance.
Councilman Baumgartner read an exerpt of the ordinance and noted that
additional information could be obtained at city hall.
Mr. Harley Rasmussen, 8380 Red Oak Drive, wanted to find out how soon
building permits for the land on the new streets in Project 1973 -4
could be issued.
Engineer Bearden stated that it would be spring or early summer. Mayor
Johnson stated it would be difficult for builders of new homes to know
what grade to build on before the street grade is established. Mr. Rasmussen
felt the project would encourage most epople to ultimately divide their
land, and he felt that people should be allowed to develop this property
to help pay for the assessment in 1976. Attorney 'Meyers stated Council
could adopt a policy in anticipation of lots being split then the building
inspector would have something to follow. The ordinance on building
permits at present prohibits issuance of building permits without an
established road.
Mayor Johnson asked Engineer Bearden to get a time -table for an idea
of when improvements will be going in.
Mayor Johnson told the audience that last Monday evening the Council
interviewed applicants for the Planning Commission position, Paul Fedor,
Steven Thompson and Michael Lonergan.
Mayor Johnson submitted the name of Paul Fedor to fill the vacancy.
Council felt that because Mr. Fedor was a long -term resident in the
area and a local businessman and a member of the Businessmen's Association
that he would be a link between Council and the businessmen in the City.
MSP (Johnson- Baumgartner) To appoint Paul Fedor to serve a term of one
year on the Planning Commission in place of Robert Shelquist. 5 Ayes
Mayor Johnson told Mr. Thompson and Mr. Lonergan that he appreciated
their involvement and interest.
Mr. Steven Thompson commended Council for the manner in which this vacancy
was filled.
Clerk Administrator Achen's Report
MSP (Hodges Shelquist) to approve the following bills: General fund
chec No. 9691 through 9752, Payroll account checks No. 1146 through 1149,
Payroll checks No. 1683 through 1719.
