Page 2 March 10, 1975 Mayor Johnson expressed concern that if Blaine were to receive financing to clean their ditches and we did not, we would be forced to clean our ditches due to the increase in water flowing through the ditches into our system. Mayor Johnson asked Blaine if they would include the red portion of the map in the proposal. Mr. Schrantz said they could add at least the trunk area without any problem. Mayor Johnson asked Engineer Bearden and Administrator Achen to be cooperative in this endeavor with Blaine and to keep abreast of the project. Councilman Baumgartner asked if the west leg of the red area, which drains Greenfield Park could be included in the project. Mr. Nelson said they would investigate this possibility. MSP (Johnson- Hodges) to refer comments to the staff and engineer for their evaluation and ask that they report back to the Council with their findings. Councilman Baumgartner asked the planner if they have a timetable. Mr. Nelson replied that final application has to be filed in April. Mayor Johnson's Report Mayor Johnson read the Police Report for February 1975. Mayor Johnson reported that he is attending the Ramsey County League meeting on Wednesday, March 12, 1975, to discuss allowing school districts and Ramsey County to become members of the League. Mayor Johnson read a letter from Wendell Anderson regarding spring thaw and threat of flood. Governor Anderson is calling a conference on Natural Disasiers to be held at the Hopkins House on Wednesday, March 12. Councilman Hodges reported that he would be in attendance. Mayor Johnson read Resolution No. 665, adopted March 3rd, opposing portions of the Metropolitan Council's draft regulations for metropolitan significance issues. Mayor .Johnson presented a letter from the mayor of Coon Rapids announcing his appointment to the Mayors' Committee on the Bicentennial and as the liaison to the State Government on Bicentennial activities within Minnesota.
