June 23, 1977 Page 2 <br />Councilmember Ziebarth stated he hoped the City and Mn /DOT could <br />cooperate in this matter. He stated that the City needs some <br />assurance of Mn /DOT willingness to reevaluate their opposition <br />to the median opening. <br />Mayor Pickar stated that the District 9 Traffic Engineer Glen <br />Van Wormer, has been very helpful to the City in the past, and <br />that the City would like to continue these good relations. <br />Councilmember Baumgartner asked whether Mr. Burrill has <br />authority to grant the median opening or must the City get <br />final approval from someone higher in Mn /DOT. <br />Mr. Burrill stated the central Mn /DOT office gives district <br />engineers discretion and authority in these matters. He will <br />have authority to make such a decision.
