May 8, 1978 <br />isk MSP Pickar- Ziebarth) to accept the recommendation of the City Administrator for use <br />of the lower level with the exception of paragraph 2 to reduce the advance notice for <br />Group C to 20 days rather than 45 days and that the policy be up for review after <br />six months. 5 ayes <br />Administrator Achen added that alcoholic beverages will not be allowed. <br />Councilmember Rowley asked if there would be a limit on the number of people allowed. <br />Administrator Achen replied that there would but that the fire code would probably <br />allow 200 -300 people. <br />Administrator Achen reported that Chief Grabowski has requested that Council ask the <br />City Attorney to prepare an ordinance allowing police to order the evacuation of an <br />on -sale liquor establishment at closing time, 1:30 AM. <br />MSP (Rowley- Baumgartner) to have the City Attorney prepare an ordinance allowing police <br />to order the evacuation of an on -sale liquor establishment at closing time, <br />1:30 AM. 5 ayes <br />Administrator Achen stated that interview for the Finance Officer position are <br />scheduled for Saturday, May 20. There will be 4 -6 candidates for individual <br />interviewing. Administrator Achen stated that he would like two Councilmenbers <br />to assist in the interviews, along with one or two department heads, an outside <br />Professional and himself. <br />Councilmember Rowley stated that she would plan on participating. Councilmember <br />Ziebarth stated that he would make every attempt possible to participate. Council <br />member Baumgartner stated that he would try to be there. <br />Administrator Achen reported that the estimate for electrical service to the City <br />Hall park shelter was $1,985, which was the lowest of two bids received. He <br />outlined the costs involved and stated that Staff recommends picking an alternative <br />method for power such as renting a generator. He also added that the generator <br />from the Civil Service truck could be used. <br />Councilmember Hodges stated that the Lions Club would be discussing the matter at <br />their next meeting. <br />Councilmember Rowley recommended making temporary arrangements for power and <br />accumulating donations received by the City for the cost of the electric service. <br />Administrator Achen stated that the City Attorney has advised the Council on the <br />outcome of the Stimpson case and recommended that the Council set a date for a <br />hearing if they wished to hold one. Mayor Pickar recommended May 22 at 9 PM. <br />ATTORNEY MEYERS' REPORT <br />Attorney Meyers had no report. <br />ENGINEER HUBBARD'S REPORT <br />Engineer Hubbard reported that notices will be going out on May 11 for the upcoming <br />public improvements hearing for District 2. <br />Page 11 <br />
