May 8, 1978 Page 12 <br />I <br />COUNCILMEMBER HODGES' REPORT <br />Councilmember Hodges stated that he would like to reconsider the vote on the Soft- <br />ball Tournament Policy. <br />MSP (Hodges Ziebarth) to reconsider the Softball Tournament Policy. <br />MSP (Hodges Ziebarth) to accept the Softball Tournament Policy as presented by <br />the Park Director tonight. <br />COUNCILMEMBER BAUMGARTNER'S REPORT <br />Councilmember Baumgartner reported that the Planning Commission will be meeting <br />on May 10. <br />Councilmember Baumgartner stated that he felt the Council let the City Administrator <br />down earlier in the evening as far as what to do with the Task Force. He stated <br />that he felt a policy should be established as to what degree or level the Task <br />Force should become involved and to what extent and give the City Administrator <br />direction. <br />Councilmember Rowley stated that she agreed and that she felt it must be done quickly. <br />Councilmember Ziebarth stated that he views it as a question by the Task Force as to <br />how they really fit in. He added that he felt they were trying to find out what <br />they could do to help and what might not be feasible to do. He stated that he feels <br />the Task Force is trying to keep tabs on how the development is going in the City in <br />terms of what areas are growing and what areas are not growing so they can get an <br />idea of the problems. <br />3 ayes <br />2 nays <br />3 ayes <br />2 nays <br />Attorney Meyers pointed out that the Task Force falls under Chapter 59.07. <br />Administrator Achen stated that he understands the role of the Task Force is to assist <br />in resolving the drainage issue on development. <br />Mr. Loeding stated that he would like to have the various representatives sit down and <br />discuss the issue with the chair group of the Task Force and come back to the Council <br />with a proposal. He added that the Task Force would like to see minor subdivisions. <br />Councilmember Baumgartner pointed out that a member of the Task Force should be attending <br />the Planning Commission meetings. Mr. Loeding replied that they had asked but that no <br />one on the Task Force would volunteer. <br />COUNCILMEMBER ROWLEY'S REPORT <br />Councilmember Rowley stated that she will be asking the Park Commission at their May 11 <br />meeting to formulate ideas on paper for Lakeside Park to show to the Council. She <br />added that she will be meeting with Playground, Inc. the following week and bringing <br />the ideas to the Council within the next month. She added that she would like to have <br />the issue resolved before budget planning time. <br />
