CONSENT AGENDA December 18, 1978 The consent agenda is a technique designed to expedite handling of routine and miscellaneous official business of the City Council. The entire agenda may be adopted by the Council in one motion. The motion for adoption is non debatable and must receive unanimous approval. By request of any individual Council Member, any item can be removed from the consent agenda and placed upon the regular agenda for debate. ITEM A. Schedule a special Council meeting for 7:00 PM, Tuesday, January 2, 1979, for swearing in of new Council Members, appoint- ment of Acting Mayor, appointments to various city commissions, designation of official depository and legal publication, and other organizational matters. This meeting will be followed by an informal Council work session. ITEM B. Award the purchase of two 1979 police squad cars to Barnett Chrysler Plymouth for the low bid of $12,334.96. Direct the Deputy Treasurer to deposit the $620.00 bid security with city funds to assure compliance with specifications; and authorize remittance of this security upon satisfactory delivery of the vehicles. Authorize Deputy Treasurer to return the bid securities of all other bidders. ITEM C. Adopt Resolution No. 948 "Establishing Salaries, Wages and Benefits for Employees in Calendar Year 1979." ITEM D. Adopt Resolution No. 949 "Supporting Ms. Karen Lindgren as Minnesota Teacher of the Year." ITEM E. Appoint Donald Brager, Finance Director, to regular full -time employee status effective December 26, 1978,upon which date his probationary period shall be completed, and at a salary rate of $731.00 per bi- weekly pay period. ITEM F. Adopt Resolution No. 950 authorizing release of performance guarantee for Development Agreement No. 78 -16 between the City and Smith's Transfer Corporation. Completion of the building addition and all requirements of the City including all landscaping stipulated in the site plan dated February 28, 1978, have been approved by the Building Zoning Official. ITEM G. Appoint William Myers, Sr. Accounting Clerk, to fill the position vacated by Margaret Long and designate him a regular full -time employee effective December 28, 1978, upon completion of his six month probationary period and at an hourly rate of $4.85. Myers shall be credited with the appropriate sick leave and va- cation leave granted all probationary and regular full -time employees commencing his date of hire, June 28, 1978. ITEM H. Appoint Patricia M. Michna, effective January 2, 1979, Assistant Police Department Secretary at an hourly rate of $3.50 per 1979 budget. ITEM I. Approve the December 18, 1978, bills for payment.
