Mayor Pickar <br />Councilmember Baumgartner <br />Councilmember Hodges <br />Councilmember Rowley <br />Councilmember Ziebarth <br />PROCEEDINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />A regular meeting of the Mounds View City Council was called to order <br />by Mayor Pickar at 7:30 PM on December 18, 1978 at the Mounds View <br />City Hall, 2401 Highway 10, Mounds View, Minnesota 55112. <br />Members Present: Also Present: <br />Clerk- Administrator Achen <br />MSP (Baumgartner Ziebarth) to approve the minutes of the regular <br />meeting of December 11, 1978. <br />Councilmember Hodges stated he was abstaining from the vote as he had <br />been absent from the December 11 meeting. <br />CITIZENS COMMENTS AND REQUESTS <br />Betty Skelly stated that she had found out this was the last meeting <br />for Councilmember Baumgartner and Mayor Pickar and that she would like <br />to take the opportunity to thank them for their devotion and dedication <br />to the City. <br />Mrs. Skelly also stated she would like to thank Administrator Achen for <br />all his help with the League of Women Voters and all he has done for <br />the City, and his devotion and dedication. <br />Mrs. Beckman, of the League of Women Voters, presented Administrator <br />Achen with a plaque and thanked him for all he has done for Mounds View. <br />Administrator Achen expressed his appreciation for the plaque and well <br />wishes. <br />Don Frank, of the Spring Lake Park City Council, stated he would also <br />like to thank Administrator Achen for all his help and close work he had <br />done with Spring Lake Park. <br />Mayor Pickar asked that Item D from the Consent Agenda be moved up. He <br />introduced Karen Lindgren, candidate for Minnesota Teacher of the Year <br />and read the resolution supporting her. <br />4 ayes <br />1 abstain <br />MSP (Pickar- Rowley) to adopt Resolution #949, "Supporting Ms. Karen <br />Lindgren as Minnesota Teacher of the Year 5 ayes <br />Mayor Pickar stated he would like to recognize Councilmember Baumgartner <br />for his service to the City and the excellent job he had done. He also <br />stated that he had found it a pleasure working for the City, and that <br />there had been some good years. <br />
