April 9, 1979 <br />A rollcall vote was taken: <br />Councilmember Ziebarth aye <br />Councilmember Hodges aye <br />Councilmember Forslund aye <br />Councilmember Rowley aye <br />Mayor McCarty nay <br />Mayor McCarty asked Staff to check with engineering firms to see what <br />they would charge for a consulting engineer. <br />Mr. Doty stated that he felt the Council had made an error in bringing <br />in an engineering firm who has a stake in the outcome of the storm <br />drainage in the City. <br />MSP (Ziebarth- McCarty) to reconsider the previous motion. 5 ayes <br />MSP (McCarty Ziebarth) to rescind the motion to have Short- Elliott- <br />Hendrickson at the meeting. 5 ayes <br />MSP (McCarty Ziebarth) to ask Chuck Hubbard to come as the engineer <br />to the April 21 meeting. 4 ayes <br />1 nay <br />Acting Administrator Anderson asked what hourly rate Mr. Hubbard will <br />be paid, whether he will be a representative of his firm or there as <br />a private individual, and where the money will come from to pay for him. <br />Mayor McCarty replied that he was not concerned with where the money <br />will come from, as it is small compared to some of the other expenditures <br />the Council has approved that were not budgeted for. <br />POLICY ON XEROXING COUNCIL PACKETS <br />Mayor McCarty reviewed the policy on xeroxing Council packets, to have <br />available to the public. <br />Councilmember Ziebarth asked that Staff let the Council know if it becomes <br />a problem with making the copies. <br />MSP (McCarty- Rowley) to direct Staff to post the relevent material to <br />items being discussed at Council meetings for public viewing, as stated <br />in item 9 of the Administrator's report dated April 9, 1979. 5 ayes <br />COUNCILMEMBER ZIEBARTH'S REPORT <br />Councilmember Ziebarth reported that he had received a letter from a <br />resident who had to pay an interest penalty on his tax assessment because <br />he did not receive a notice with the exact amount of the assessment <br />from the City, and thus had to pay the County. <br />Councilmember Ziebarth stated that he had been asked to address the <br />issue of rewriting the administrators duties, and that he disagrees <br />Page 7 <br />4 ayes <br />1 nay <br />
