MOUNDS VIEW CITY COUNCIL <br />Page 4 <br />Mountin suggested Council set up informational <br />meetings for people to the north and those on <br />the south side, in order that MnDOT can provide <br />an overview of Hwy. 10 as it fits into a major <br />U.S. highway system. <br />Ferris stated that businesses along Hwy. 10 were <br />against the relocation. She stated MnDOT only <br />has 3 proposals and E.I.S. favors relocation. <br />Hedlund suggested Council ask MnDOT for a 6 month <br />moratorium in order to inform citizens. <br />Ziebarth made the motion, seconded by McCarty <br />to direct Staff to draw up a resolution requesting <br />MnDOT for a 6 -month moratorium to provide time <br />for informational meetings with them for the <br />citizens of Mounds View. <br />5 ayes <br />0 nays <br />Ziebarth: 1) Lade a public apology to the <br />Planning Commission for coming Aug. 9 for an <br />Aug. 8 meeting. 2) Asked about the possibility <br />of another postal outlet. 3) Gave belated thanks <br />for the Festivities Committee to the Park &l:ec. <br />Dept., Maintenance personnel, Staff, newsletter, <br />and the community. <br />Forslund: 1) Pointed out some citizens were no'L <br />aware a permit is required to use the City park, <br />and its sometimes not left clean. Suggested an <br />article in the newsletter could remind citizens. <br />Stated she feels the dumpster is not large enough. <br />2) Pointed out the metal doors o f rho firep1 r' <br />in the park are rusting; perhaps C.E.T.A. kids <br />could work on it. 3) Asked what happened to the <br />$100 Jaycees donation for a bonfire ring for the <br />park. Nelson stated an inner ring is downstairs <br />at City Hall. 4) Pointed out there never was a <br />review on reapportionment. Nelson stated there <br />was a need for a review of this type- -Staff will <br />present first and then Comstock -Davis will present. <br />Rowley: 1) Suggested agenda sessions be earlier. <br />August 20 meeting will be at 5:00 PM. 2) Re: District <br />621 C.I.P. Plan- -Staff is directed to send a e <br />le te <br />asking what schools will be closed and explaining <br />the impact on the community as the reason for <br />the request. 3) Re: Lakeside Park Rowley asked <br />direction whether to pursue sale of the park to <br />the County, or if the City should keep it and <br />perhaps employ a 'user fee' to help with expenses. <br />Council preferred the latter action; however, the <br />title should be cleared from Playground, Inc. <br />Re;ulnr Meeting <br />:.usut,L 1:3, 1979 <br />Fi.
