BID AWARD <br />Council with background information on the <br />Bids received and opened for 7 vehicles on <br />the llth of February, 1980. Nelson noted <br />that the City had received three bids prior <br />to the 9 o'clock bid opening. The City <br />also received one sealed bid at 9:38. He <br />had not opened that bid for fear of pre- <br />judicing the bids that were received pur- <br />surant to the Standards set by the City <br />Council. He did inform the City Council <br />that in a discussion with the City Attorney <br />the City Council could wave the irregulari- <br />ty4:for the purposes of consideration of that <br />unopened bid. City Attorney ratified that <br />comment. After some general discussion, <br />Mayor McCarty moved to open the late bid <br />from Iten Chevrolet and it was seconded <br />by Councilman Hodges. <br />The motion carried. <br />4 <br />1 <br />Rowley descented because she had <br />award did not meet the standards <br />ayes <br />nay <br />felt the <br />expected <br />the other bidders. Based on that bid open- <br />ing, the bid award recommendation had to <br />be modified and the apparent low bidders <br />were Rosedale Chevrolet for a small sub- <br />compact or compact car and two small pick- <br />ups. Iten Chevrolet appeared to be the <br />apparent low bidder for the Police vehicles <br />and two standard pickups. Ziebarth moved <br />to accept the bid as received and award the <br />bids to the two apparent low bidders in the <br />following manner -Iten Chevrolet, (2) Chevro- <br />let Malibu Police Cars for $14,260, also (2) <br />Chevrolet Series 10 Pickups for the total of <br />VEHICLES FOR 1980 <br />Regular Meeting <br />February 11, 1980 <br />
