MOUNDS VIEW CITY COUNCIL Regular Meeting
Page 2
Counciht nber Rowley first raised the issue
regarding the request from TRA requesting
an assignment or an appointment to the
Task Force a member of the City of Mounds
View. The ensuing conversation resulted
in a general concensus that there was not
a need for the City to make such appoint-
ment. Staff was directed to prepare a
letter stating the City Councils position
on this matter to TRA.
Councilmember Rowley requested the Councils
intentions on the action alert received
from the League of Cities regarding the
Municipal Bond Interest Rate bills. It
was generally decided by the City Council
that each would respond individually on
this matter.
Rowley next reported that Ramsey County
Commissioners would be meeting at 7 :30 AM
on March 17,1980 for the purpose of dis-
cussing the acquisitir n of Lakeside Park.
Mayor had one issue that he wanted to
discuss with the City Council which was
the utilization of the name Mounds View
on letters sent by the residents. He
felt that the City could inform the
public through the City Newsletter that
they could use the term Mounds View on
their mail as long as they used the
proper zipcode. There was some appre-
hension expressed by the City Council
on that issue.
The first item that the Councilmember 8. COUNCILMAN HODGES REPORT
brought up was membership on the N.W.
Suburban Youth Service Bureau. They had
submitted a copy of their By -laws and
Summary of their 1979 Activities as well
as a Proposed Budget for 1981. They
also provided additional copies to be
put in the Council Library.
He noted that he was remaining on the
Board of Directors and that Tim Smith
would be on the Executive Board repre-
senting Law Enforcement.
Hodges next stated that he had conducted
March 10, 1980
6. COUNCILMAN ROWLEY'S REPORT
7. MAYOR MC CARTY'S REPORT
