MOUNDS VIEW CITY COUNCIL 0ctob ?r 27, 1980 <br />Regular Meeting Page Six <br />Councilmember Rowley noted that she had heard <br />many favorable comments from the residents <br />regarding the non-competitive soccer format <br />for the childrer. She also noted that other <br />cities councilmembers had inquired to her about <br />Mounds View's working agreement with the school <br />district and she had referred their questions <br />to Director Anderson. <br />There was no report from the Building and <br />Zoning Official (Steve Rose) because he was <br />at an out -of -town meeting. <br />Public Works Superintendent Decheine: He <br />stated they had recently televised Well #3 <br />and found no problems. They were gearing up <br />with regular pre winter maintenance. They <br />got $410 for the remaining surplus vehicles. <br />The Council discussed the current logo with <br />Mr. Decheine and it was decided that Mr. Decheine <br />would contact some companies regarding the cost <br />and possibilities of a different logo. Council <br />members were asked to give their ideas to <br />Mr. Decheine. <br />Finance Director Brager: He stated current <br />activities of the Department were preparation <br />of the 1981 budget, election activities, the <br />long term finance planning, preparation for <br />audit and year end finance statements, sending <br />out bids for a different audit firm, as well <br />as regular Department activities. He stated <br />he felt the City would have a balanced budget <br />at the end of the year (1980). <br />Councilmember Hodges suggested Mr. Brager include <br />in his packet of information for new residents <br />notification of the night depository box available <br />to them. <br />Councilmember Rowley complimented Mr. Brager <br />on the extra time and effort he and his staff <br />spent on the budget preparation activities. <br />Mr. Kremers noted that the city engineer had <br />stated in his letter of 10 -23 -80 that an easement <br />would not be necessary by the proposed ponding <br />area since there were no structures to maintain. <br />Mr. Kremers felt that, if he was required to <br />instal the easement any way, he would, but he <br />felt he should not have to make a cash deposit <br />(bond).
