MOUNDS VIEW CITY COUNCIL February 23, 1981
Regular Meeting Page 4
The Council recessed for a break at 8:30 p.m.
and re- convened at 8:45 p.m.
Councilmember Forslund noted the check written to
M E Realty for $136,500 and asked for clarifi-
cation of this figure so that the entire Council
understood how this was being handled.
MOTION: Doty made a motion, seconded by Hodges,
to adopt Item D of the consent agenda and to waive
the reading of the resolutions.
Ayes -4 Nays -0 MOTION CARRIED.
Finance Director Brager noted that janitorial service
specifications have been prepared and proposals were
submitted with Contract Cleaning Service being the
low bidder.
MOTION: McCarty made a motion, seconded by Forslund,
to direct staff to draft a new contract with Contract
Cleaning Service for approval by the Council.
Ayes -4 Nays -0 MOTION CARRIED.
Clerk- Administrator Pauley noted that Mrs. Sheryl A.
VanHouten has requested reimbursement for $85.00 for
expenses incurred when she had her sanitary sewer line
cleaned. According to Public Works Superintendent
Decheine, it appears that a nearby resident had their
service line cleaned which resulted in root growth
being pushed into the main line causing the blockage.
Mrs. VanHouten had called a private sewer company to
correct the problem before it was realized it was a
problem in the street. She then contacted the City.
The Council discussed this problem which has occurred
before. There currently is no procedure required for
private sewer companies to contact the City Public
Works Department when they are working on the sewer
lines. If done, this could eliminate some of the
problems. Official Rose noted he will discuss this
with the attorney to see what could be implemented.
MOTION: Hodges made a motion, seconded by Doty, to
submit the claim of Mrs. Sheryl A. VanHouten to the
City's insurance company.
Ayes 4 Nays 0 MOTION CARRIED.
11.
