MOUNDS VIEW CITY COUNCIL April 13, 1981 <br />Regular Meeting Page Seven. <br />AMENDMENT TO THE MOTION: Mayor McCarty moved to <br />amend the motion that the money be taken out of <br />the contingency fund instead of shortening up <br />the Parks and Recreation Fund at this time. <br />Councilmembers Doty and Hodges, and Mayor McCarty <br />withdrew their motion and amendment to the motion. <br />MOTION: Councilmember Doty made a motion, seconded <br />by 'Oouncilmember Hodges to adopt Resolution 1262, <br />awarding the bid to Collins Electric in the amount <br />of $2,975.00 using Contingency Fund monies, and to <br />waive the reading of the Resolution. <br />Ayes -5 <br />Nays -0 MOTION CARRIED. <br />Parks, Recreation and Forestry Director 7. Bids for T- Shirts for the <br />Anderson passed out a memorandum to Council Parks and Recreation <br />regarding T -Shirt bids. He stated that staff Department <br />is recommending the bid be awarded to Gopher <br />Athletic Supply Company. Further he stated that <br />there is a $10.00 registration fee which covers <br />the cost of the T- Shirts. <br />MOTION: Councilmember Hodges made a motion, <br />seconded by Forslund to approve the bid from <br />Gopher Athletic Supply Company in the amount <br />of $3,752.68. <br />Ayes -5 <br />Nays -0 MOTION CARRIED <br />Parks, Recreation and Forestry Director Anderson <br />discussed the Public Hearing that had been held <br />on Saturday regarding Silver View Park. <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley discussed the meeting <br />that had been held on March 25, 1981, with <br />members of the Fire Department Negotiating <br />Committee. <br />Councilmember Doty read the letter of April 1, 1981, <br />from Fire Chief Fagerstrom. He stated that the <br />contract has been signed by the City of Spring <br />Lake Park and Blaine. <br />Summary of Discussion: <br />Doty: Section 3.3, additional levies that could be <br />maw to the City. He voiced his concerns over a <br />five year contract with this in it. <br />McCarty: He read Section 3.5, and Article 12. He <br />sued that the right to re -open the contract <br />conflicts with Article 12. Further that there are <br />no provisions for continuity. Mayor McCarty read <br />8.
