Mounds View City Council November 9, 1981 <br />Regular Meeting Page Three <br />Director Anderson reported that the ping pong <br />aague, jazz exercise and youth movies have been big <br />hits. He also reported that work is being done on a <br />joint powers agreement between Mounds View and New <br />Brighton for the puppet wagon program. <br />Park Director Anderson reported that forestry had <br />experienced its worst year in the past five years, <br />due mainly to the past two mild winters, with 260 <br />trees being lost in the past year. He added that <br />work is being done on reforestration. <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley read proposed <br />Ordinance No. 308. <br />Motion /Second: Blanchard /Doty to accept the <br />second reading of Ordinance No. 308 and pass <br />the ordinance. <br />3 ayes 0 nays <br />Acting Mayor Hodges reviewed the letter <br />received from the City of New Brighton, asking <br />whether Mounds View was interested in joining <br />them in an investigation of possible litigation <br />in the municipal well water contamination. <br />Councilmember Doty recommended discussing the <br />issue at the next agenda session, and perhaps <br />in replying to New Brighton, also ask for their <br />participation in the airport issue. He pointed <br />out that there was no estimate of the cost <br />involved if the City did join New Brighton in <br />possible litigation. <br />It was the consensus of the Council to discuss <br />the issue at the next agenda session. <br />Official Rose reviewed the letter received <br />from Mr. Eshelman, requesting an extension of <br />his minor subdivision. He recommended that, <br />based on past Council action, a 60 day exten- <br />sion be granted, rather than the six month <br />(tension Mr. Eshelman was asking for. <br />Motion /Second: Doty /Hodges to grant an <br />extension tor Marvin E. Eshelman on his minor <br />subdivision, from January 1, 1982 to <br />8. Second Reading of <br />Ordinance No. 308 <br />Amending the Muni- <br />cipal Code of Mounds <br />View by Amending <br />Chapter 101, Entitled <br />"Non- Intoxicating <br />Liquors" and Chapter <br />114, Entitled "Mech- <br />anical Amusement <br />Devices" <br />Motion Carried <br />9.
