Mounds view City Council November 24, 1981 <br />Regular Meeting Page Three <br />ouncilmember Doty asked that Item B be pulled 6. Approval of <br />from the consent agenda. Consent Agenda <br />Motion /Second: Doty /Forslund to approve the <br />consent agenda, minus Item B, and waive the reading. <br />4 ayes 0 nays <br />Councilmember Doty asked for a clarification of the <br />change order for Silver View Park. He stated that <br />he felt once an agreed upon price had been establish- <br />ed, it should be maintained. <br />Park Director Anderson explained the change orders <br />thrt have been approved to date, and the necessity <br />for this particular one. He stated that the overrun <br />was unforeseeable as there was not the anticipated <br />amount of fill from the ponding area, so fill had <br />to be brought in. He added that including the <br />proposed change order, the project is still $7548.85 <br />under budget. <br />Motion /Second: Doty /Forslund to approve Item B of <br />the consent agenda. <br />ayes <br />It was the concensus of the Council that it was 7. Review the Purchase <br />very important for them to get together with Staff of Winter Maintenance <br />as quickly as possible and go over the budget, Equipment <br />with no action on purchases to be taken beforehand, <br />in light of the present budget problems in the State <br />and City. <br />Motion /Second: McCarty /Blanchard to table any <br />major equipment purchases. <br />4 ayes 0 nays <br />0 nays Motion Carried <br />Park Director Anderson stated that without the <br />purchase of this equipment, they would have to cut <br />back on the winter skating program. He added that <br />there is an older International tractor that could <br />be repaired, at an estimate of $2,383. <br />It was the concensus of the Council that it would <br />be worthwhile to have the tractor repaired and put <br />into use. Clerk /Administrator stated he <br />would instruct the Public Works Superintendent to <br />we the repairs made. <br />Councilmember Doty asked what the cost would be <br />to rent another park trailer for the season, in <br />Motion Carried <br />Motion Carried <br />8.
