Attorney Meyers reported that Mark Kerney would be attending the next Council meeting, in his absence. Attorney Meyers reported that the Metropolitan Council had approved the schedule of notifica- tion prepared by their General Counsel in conformance with the court order resulting from the Anoka County Airport lawsuit filed by the City. Councilmember Hodges reported he had just attended the Police Department appreciation dinner for Mounds View, Spring Lake Park, Blaine and Anoka County, and on behalf of the Council, expressed their appreciation: for a job well done. Councilmember Forslund noted that the Council had received the yearly police report. Motion /Second: Forslund /Doty to accept the 1981 Police report. 5 ayes 0 nays Councilmember Forslund reported there would be a meeting on February 22 at Westwood Jr. High in Blaine at which the PCA would hold a public hearing regarding disposal sites being considered by the Met Council. Councilmember Blanchard reported she had attended the League of Minnesota Cities conference with the Mayor and that while it was interesting, she felt it was more geared to communities outside the metropolitan area and did not feel it was necessary for the Council to attend every year, but would still recommend that they belong to the League. Councilmember Blanchard reported that the Ramsey County Commissioners had held a meeting earlier in the day, trying to set up a Metro regional rail authority, which would be a subdivision of the Met Council. She recommended the City send a letter, stating their view on the subject. She stated her personal view was that it was just another step by the Met Council to try and gain authority. 14.
