Mounds View City Council February 8, 1982 <br />Regular Meeting Page Six <br />are that the City does not have to honor this <br />billing, although they can choose to do so. <br />Attorney Meyers reported that Mark Kerney would <br />be attending the next Council meeting, in his <br />absence. <br />Attorney Meyers reported that the Metropolitan <br />Council had approved the schedule of notifica- <br />tion prepared by their General Counsel in <br />conformance with the court order resulting from <br />the Anoka County Airport lawsuit filed by the <br />City. <br />Councilmember Hodges reported he had just <br />attended the Police Department appreciation <br />dinner for Mounds View, Spring Lake Park, <br />Blaine and Anoka County, and on behalf of <br />the Council, expressed their appreciation: <br />for a job well done. <br />Councilmember Forslund noted that the Council <br />had received the yearly police report. <br />Motion /Second: Forslund /Doty to accept the <br />1981 Police report. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Councilmember Forslund reported there would be <br />a meeting on February 22 at Westwood Jr. High <br />in Blaine at which the PCA would hold a public <br />hearing regarding disposal sites being considered <br />by the Met Council. <br />Councilmember Blanchard reported she had attended <br />the League of Minnesota Cities conference with <br />the Mayor and that while it was interesting, she <br />felt it was more geared to communities outside <br />the metropolitan area and did not feel it was <br />necessary for the Council to attend every year, <br />but would still recommend that they belong to <br />the League. <br />Councilmember Blanchard reported that the Ramsey <br />County Commissioners had held a meeting earlier <br />in the day, trying to set up a Metro regional <br />rail authority, which would be a subdivision of <br />the Met Council. She recommended the City send <br />a letter, stating their view on the subject. <br />She stated her personal view was that it was just <br />another step by the Met Council to try and gain <br />authority. <br />14.
