Mounds View City Council April 12, 1982 <br />Regular Meeting Page Five <br />Finance Director Brager reported that due to the <br />delay in the county preparing the 1982 property <br />tax statements, the report to the Council would <br />be delayed until the middle of May. He also reported <br />the City insurance agent has been invited to the <br />April 19 agenda meeting to go over proposals on <br />insurance policies. <br />Finance Director Brager reported that he had just <br />received notice from Group Health Plan that the <br />premium will increase 19 percent effective May 1, <br />and that Prudential has increased their rate 83 <br />percent. He reported only three employees elected <br />to have coverage with Prudential, and they are <br />having a difficult time finding someone else that <br />will insure such a small group. <br />Finance Director Brager reported that they are <br />handling the billing for the Ramsey County <br />consortium of municipalities, which results in <br />$115 per month in income. He also reported the City is <br />participating in a financial health profile program, <br />with a meeting to be held April 20, at 11 AM at <br />the Roseville City Hall, to go over the City's <br />profile. <br />Finance Director Brager reported his department <br />will be updating the long -term financial plan <br />in the next quarter, as well as beginning pre- <br />paration for the 1983 budget. <br />Mayor McCarty thanked Finance Director Brager <br />for the great deal of time he has spent on the <br />budget in the past year. <br />Police Chief Grabowski reported the Civil Service <br />Commission is in the process of testing for a <br />replacement, which will hopefully be done within <br />the next two weeks. He added they have been <br />receiving a lot of nuisance complaints, and have <br />been without a community service office for <br />three montho. <br />Motion /Second: McCarty /Hodges to authorize <br />the hiring of a community services officer, <br />as recommended by the Chief of Police. <br />4 ayes 0 nays <br />13.
