He also reported <br />the flushing program will begin April 19, and will <br />start the normal sewer cleaning schedule as soon as <br />the weather clears up. <br />Park Director Anderson reported that a great deal <br />of time had been spent in the past quarter on a <br />plan for Edgewood Junior High. <br />He also reported his secretary has submitted her <br />resignation, and they have received 164 applications <br />so far, for the May 30 opening. He also reported that <br />two newsletters had been printed, with another going <br />to press early next week. <br />Park Director Anderson reported that the reforestation <br />program will begin this week, with May 8 set as a <br />major Arbor Day celebration. <br />Park Director Anderson reported the adult softball <br />program was set up, with stricter guidelines to be <br />met this year. He added that registration has started <br />for the Spring youth programs. <br />Building and Zoning Official Rose reported that while <br />the number of building permits has decreased for the <br />first quarter, their valuation totals are close to <br />exceeding last years Lotal. He added that it appears <br />Mary Anderson Homes has already sold 2 or 3 homes. <br />Official Rose reported they have reviewed a number of <br />heating and electrical permits. He also stated that <br />adding the building inspections to his other duties <br />has worked out well to date. <br />Official Rose reported that the end of March was the <br />deadline for collecting housing fees, with 98 percent <br />of them received. He reported that 52 units were <br />inspected in the first quarter, with 108 reinspections, <br />ans 23 HRA inspections. <br />Official Rose reported Kraus /Anderson has stopped <br />dredging the lake and will be submitting the final <br />grading plan to the City soon. <br />Official Rose reported the Tyson project is progressing <br />well, and Standard Oil is planning on getting their <br />permit sometime in the next week. He reported there <br />were some minor problems in the development agreement, <br />which would have to be cleared up first. <br />Official Rose reported the Planning Commission will be <br />reviewing the zoning code at their next work session, <br />and hope to forward it to the Council at their next <br />regular meeting on May 5. <br />
